Updating Categories In Google Places

As others have mentioned, it is no longer advisable to add multiple keywords in the category fields of your your Google Places page. It is a good practice to use the categories that Google provides, though not required. So, for custom category entries - and as stated in recent algo updates - your categories should indicate what your business "is" and not what it "does." It also shouldn't appear to be stuffed with keywords or have any commas in the field. To describe your business further, use the description field or the additional information section at the bottom.

Understanding all this, I have one listing which I updated several weeks ago. I took out the old category keywords that are not in compliance and replaced them with new ones; however, Google still hasn't updated my changes on the viewable Maps page. It still shows the old categories. Does anyone know what I can do to get Google to move on this? LOL - laughing at the futility of trying to get Google to do anything at all.

Regardless, any suggestions would be helpful. I believe my ranking has been suffering because of it.

Regards,
Dino

PS. I did the same thing with another client and the change took place within a day.
