How to setup monthly recurring payments for clients with Paypal?

For this one client the initial setup fee and first month payment was paid by check. Now I'd like to setup a recurring subscription payment plan using PayPal for this client for them to pay on the 1st of each month before we start on that month's SEO services.

So the way I understand it is we go to our PayPal account, to go Profile, and then select "Create New Button". Then choose "Subscriptions and recurring billing" from Accept payments for option. Then fill in the amount, billing cycle (1 months in this case), select "Never" for how many cycles should billing stop, and for Transactions notification select "Use my secure merchant account ID" and then hit "Create Button".

So then I email my client and in that email insert the PayPal code that was generated for email. Then when client clicks on link it will let them pay for the service with their credit card.

So then my question is whether they will be charged every month from now on or will I have to send a new email every month with the link?

Any feedback?

It is a recurring payment so they pay every month until you or them cancel it.

So once I send them the first email and they click on that link and pay with their CC then say on March 1 do they get charged automatically again with their CC info on file? I don't have to send anything to them again and it keeps going until they cancel the sub or I cancel it correct?

Also does the client need to have a PayPal account to be able to pay for this service or can they just pay by CC with no PayPal account?

They can pay with CC without a PayPal account, but you need to give them the subscription link or some form of link that you create from within your account (which is what you're doing).

So once they pay the first time do they automatically get charged again next month since I setup the link as a subscription based? Or do I have to send them the link again next month? If it is automatic does PayPal use save their CC info the first time and then charge that CC every month until they cancel?

With PayPal you can either create a recurring "Buy Now" button or a "Subscription" that will continue billing them as long as you specify in the options. Good luck

Yes I will be selecting "Subscription" for the new button and using the code generated for an email. So my question is when they get this email, click on the PayPal link, and go to pay with their CC info will that CC info be used again the next month to charge them automatically since I had setup the new button for "Subscriptions"? They will get charged that amount every month until they cancel or I cancel it correct?

    Thanks for sharing the mantra.

I didn't have the idea of this process. Thanks for sharing the details.
