Rank Tracker, WebCEO, or IBP?

I have been tracking clients' ranking for multiple keywords manually, but would like to switch to something a bit more automated.

I also need something that can produce visually appealing reports to send to clients.

I can't decide between Rank Tracker, WebCEO, or IBP. I've been combing the forums for opinions, but still can't make up my mind.

Does anyone use one of these three for client reports and rank tracking?

Thanks,

I've been using WebCEO for 3 months now and it is my goto tool for tracking, ranking, site auditing, and much more. You may have to pay a small fee each month for tracking stats if you exceed the free level, but you can give out a small program to your client to allow them to access the stats in real time which is a really cool benefit. You can also automate your reports and send them to clients (ranking, etc.) Very useful and gives your service a real professional edge. All custom branded with the Pro level license.

I also use Market Samurai for ranking and keyword work but it does not have the broad search engine reach of WebCEO. May not affect you, but in Hong Kong here there are several versions of Google and Yahoo - international pages, pages from Hong Kong, pages in English, pages in Chinese... WebCEO has them all covered, so a local keyword check really is local. MS only has a single search engine view, which is not 'pages from Hong Kong' - even when selecting Hong Kong for location. WebCEO also has Chinese search engines... I could go on, and on... It is really a great tool. And I have still not started my included SEO Pro training course... must get onto it soon.

    Hope that helps.

The SEOPowersuite and other tools DO have a monthly fee (its in the terms of service for Live!) so don't think it's a "one time" payment

Yeah; I thought rank tracker was a one time payment. I recently got their yearly subscription plan; but its worth it; huge time saver when you have lots of sites to check for rankings and send out reports

      Hey Dexx

Here is a link to a comparison done by Link Assistant

      Market Samurai Vs SEOPowersuite

I use Rank Tracker and NO it is not cheap but I would never use anything else.

WEB CEO is great, just not for me.

IBP I didn't like the interface but again a good product

Market Samurai is not in their league. If you are an SEO consultant using MS as your rank tracker etc then you must be an awesome salesman! I use MS for Keyword Research and it does a great job.

Ultimately it comes down to the tool you are comfortable using. That is what makes it effective.

I would recommend Rank Tracker if you are a pro SEO, otherwise you are going to be forking out a lot of money.

      • Agreed. MS, awesome for research, but not in the same league for tracking keywords.

Also, Dexx, Rank Tracker automatically helps you find more keywords to go after. It's lightening fast. MS hangs A LOT and takes a long time to run, the reporting features are just average. There are big differences.

        My two cents.

            • Do any of them accurately track the new MERGED Places listings PLUS the 7 pack listings and indicate in the report if it's an organic listing, a merged Places listing or a 'pack' listing?
              That's what I need.

Since all 3 types of listings have a different algo - I need it to indicate what type of listing it is.

I'm beta testing 2 Places Ranking programs that kinda sorta do it, but have found nothing that meets my needs so far.

Market Samurai only shows the merged google places listings, I suppose coz it is designed primarily to deal with Organic SEO. It doesnt deal with the google places non-merged packs and simply ignores google places map packs.

Since someone bumped this thread it showed me that I forgot to come back here and post an update.

If you just need regular national organic SEO rank tracking, not sure what's best.

BUT if you need a LOCAL rank checker, that accurately tracks all the different types of local results, one of the programs I was BETA testing is out now. Has been for awhile. See Scout at the top of my Tools page or the review on my blog.

Lesley, since you are in the offline forum, I assume at least part of your business is local. Many of the big traditional SEO programs don't deal with G local well. G is constantly changing and blocking local results so if you mainly do local you need a program that does local well.

I think if you can afford it buy the lot and have a thorough check and report of whatever you do with SEO.

At the moment I am using SEO PowerSuite, IBP and Market Samurai and they all have advantages and disadvantages.

If you want an onpage optimization then IBP helps you out there in this category. It also analyzes a lot of data and presents it in one page of great info.

SEO POwersuite is also a fantastic SEO Software that does a great job too. I did find the tips in IBP a little better.

Market Samurai is another great tool to own. Price wise this is the best but it lacks on search engine submission area. But for the price it is healthy tool to have in your list.

Webceo - I can't comment because I haven't installed it to use it. However, I have read good reviews about it as well.

I've purchased pro versions of IBP (3months) and SEO Powersuite (6 months). Took advantage of the specials they had last week and saved some there. THese 2 tools cost you atleast $120/year for Search Engine data updates.
Market samurai is a one time payment.
My initial investment so far is ($199 +$99+$99) = $397

One other product I use that I would like other people to take note is the MicroNicheFidner. It is another tool for those targeting keywords to rank for.

                  Cheers!

I hated Traffic Travis. It didn't work half the time; very unreliable; and horrible support. They promise 24 hours, yes and mostly they deliver that; but the support itself is awful.

They kept telling me, "just load the newest version" which loads automatically and so i'd have to write them back each time and say, "ummmm .. it loads automatically so I am of course using the newest version. Now what about my problem?" and the bottom line is it kept not working for me and they never had an answer so I refunded.

Also their tracking of sites ranking only updates once per day and you're limited to that, which is okay for most people but it's a limitation you should be aware of.

As for SEO Suite, is there a way to get it less than $250?

If you're looking for reliability at an affordable price (compared to the competition!) check it out. The $19.95 plan is more than enough to track a bunch of sites and the dynamic export features (in the form of private URL's) can be used to send to clients or show results and SERP gains to friends. I've tried them all (Raven Tools, SEOMoz, WebCEO, Rank Tracker, Serpfox, etc.) and Microsite Masters is now my weapon of choice.
