Templates For Specific Businesses & Professions?

We're considering creating "lead generation" products for offline consultants who are interested in targeting specific types of businesses or professions.

We've had good success with a "generic" lead gen program that we created and we're basically on "cruise control" at this point in our own business. We are "thinning out" our client base in order to target specific business/professions that we're most comfortable working with.

Of course we're still learning new things all the time (and others here on the warrior forum are great to learn from) but based on our own experiences of the last couple years we've got a pretty good handle on how to generate a steady stream on customers for the offline consulting business.

My 1st question for newbies and advanced warriors alike is this: Are there specific business categories or professions you would most like to have as a client/customer for your offline consulting business ... or are you more interested in a generic type lead gen program?

My 2nd question: If we were to create a "lead gen" program that targeted specific businesses and provided a step by step plan on how to put it into action ... what do you think would be a fair price for such a program?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Based on my experience, it is far more profitable to go after high paying professionals or services than just any old client/business.

I once wasted three months doing some intensive SEO work for a Chinese restaurant. The retainer was a joke and the guy ended up screwing me.

After that, I made a point of only going after high caliber individuals. Lawyers, health specialists, motivational speakers, CPA's and so on. They pay better, don't give you any headaches and don't try and screw you.

    Agree with Logan.

To be clear though, it's also not so simple getting face time with them since (you) are not the only one to have thought of them as higher-profit.

Also: not all "higher tier" service pros actually make a lot of money. You need to analyze the market closely to see who's more likely to be needing your services.

You also need to "look the part", and especially know how to talk the talk of a true business consulting professional. Show up in jeans to any visit with a lawyer (unless you are a client), and you won't get past the receptionist. If you do, it'll be a very short visit.
