Hey, I wanted to share a video from my new product release as just a free giveaway.

I use yellowpages.com to find quality prospects and contact them for monthly retainers.

  • do you cold call or email or write to them?
  • Ryan-Thanks for posting the video. It is very helpful. Can you post the exact email you use here.

    Thanks
  • you can do a few things; the more methods of contacting them; the better; because it usually takes more than one exposure to get their attention; I do a combination of phone, email, direct mail, and video capture email; sometimes I do one of these, or all of them; it depends on what you feel works best and what you like doing.
  • I am curious to see your results with this method.

YP.com or yellowpages gives away listings on yp.com and free websites to people that sign up for their SEO contracts. The fact that it was a fairly new business in the video tells me that the reason it wasn't ranked is because the contract is new.

If the the client doesn't have the budget to spring for PPC management for immediate results, then they give them a featured listing as part of the contract as a loss leader to show them some form of measurable interent marketing results.

This in... effort for the upsell.

I think what you have posted here works great in theory. But my experience has been a little different. Maybe it's just in my area.... I don't know.

When finding leads from yellowpages you may want to keep in mind that yellowpages sells nothing but SEO and PPC now. Giving Print Phone Book ads for free, along with websites, and listings on their directory site.... which they claim that 25% of internet searchers go their first.

Another way to find clients that I have found extremely helpful and productive. Is to use direct mail if I have already called them and couldn't get them on the phone.

    Emails get deleted hella quick.

First and foremost. Call them. Get them on the phone and set an appointment to show them something that could possibly increase their business.

If that doesn't work... send them a printed version of what is described above. With a direct response marketing oriented sales letter that is highly personalized. Then call them to make sure they got it and ask if they have any questions. Set the appointment. Bamn

I found as of late that getting qualified leads that convert come better from traditional mass media.

    Newspaper, Television, Radio.

Check out their rankings.... the ones that aren't already ranked or doing PPC are the most lucrative.

Because all Yellow Pages sell internet marketing as their main source of income. I try to not use them to get leads....

Just never really worked out for me.
  • I am curious to see how he responds to Amir's questions. You took the words out of my mouth Louie!
  • By no means am I attacking the method RollTide...

As you know. I speak from experience only.

What I shared here today was just my experiences using YP for leads... I am better off calling cold, but my experience may differ from others.

    Don't get me wrong....
  • I've never used the site but I'm a huge fan of the book.

Every company, broken down by niche, with contact information.

    Priceless!
  • I understood what you meant Amir. I was curious as well.
