A Little Motivation to Start Your Weekend

Hopefully you know me well enough by now to know this is sharing and supporting, not bragging.

I want to share a little motivation with you today...

My week started on Monday with a redesign project approval for a client. Awesome, $4795 coming my way.

The week is ending on another solid note- this morning I met with an existing client. A dentist specifically, but that's not really important.

Long story short, I'm redesigning his web site for him. Estimated $5-$7K, final price to be set when we sort out the new design features.

He's THRILLED to pay it - he has new patients walking in the door every day with a stupid little coupon that I set up for him for free x-rays.

See, he's GIVING away the x-rays that cost him VERY little in relative terms...

People are walking in all the time with them.

Guess what? The average lifetime value of a new patient to this dentist is $9,000. That's right, 9 grand. He's MORE than happy to give away free x-rays.

I've had previous earnings from this client, but it just feels great when you get even more work from a happy, satisfied customer...

Stay motivated people! Help others make money and you will too.

If you're doing online stuff (product reviews, etc) keep in mind the consumer - what do they want and need to know to make the buying decision? Give it to them, and they'll purchase through your link.

Hope it boosts your motivation and drive to get going and tear it up!

All success,

Gary

I find that this is one of the most important parts of this business. Stop being so concerned with Google, and start worrying more about the consumer. Google isn't going to buy a product through your link, a real human visitor is going to.

People need need to get out of the "make money now" mindset and try to focus on providing quality content or services to the consumer.

Thanks... and Absolutely... couldn't have said it better myself!

How did you obtain this 'redesign project approval' in question. Did you just approach a few clients whose sites needed a rinse?

Happy to share and motivate! You can do anything you set your mind to - if you're good at keyword research, then great! Embrace it, use it to target optimal keywords and build pre-sales sites for emerging products... give the people the info they need for an educated purchase, and you'll do well!

This was an existing client, just generating more revenue from them - always easier than obtaining a new client, but you can absolutely do that too - IF you keep THEIR needs in mind.

Thanks much... it does, but it's really about encouraging my Warrior Family here. It can be done. YOU can do it too. Keep the focus on the customer and the money will come. Don't chase wild stuff and bounce all over the place - be determined and you'll taste success.

Mike, he SURE does - his average lifetime value of a new patient is $9,000 US. Beautiful. He can't WAIT to hear what I have for him next when we talk.

Good post Gary. You touched on something that is KEY. You talked about the dentist and LIFETIME VALUE OF A CUSTOMER. Very early in my sales career an experienced and successful sales rep told me to think about the lifetime value of a customer. In short, typically that means taking very good care of those customers that you know will pay huge dividends over the long haul. That can mean giving them something for free up front to earn their business, helping them out in a jam that won't benefit you financially, letting them vent to you about something that isn't your fault, and giving them the periodic discount for no reason. It's a simple concept but one that gets lost often.

Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, yes, absolutely - it's about what that customer can bring to them. Having a loss leader (the giveaway you mention for those not familiar with the term) is a great way to encourage that first purchase or visit to the dentist, etc.

Caring for the customer is paramount just as you say, and I couldn't agree more, it so often gets overlooked. In fact, you can build a business off of it - better customer service than the next guy.

      All success!
