handyman, painter etc - should use pages or posts on WP for better SEO????

Hi,

I'm getting 2 clients and more are coming - one per industry

They know each other.

I thought about umbrella site "CITYHOMEIMPORVEMENT.com on Word press

And add them all to one site instead of blog for each of them.

What should I use posts with keywords for each or create pages for each?

I read that pages are not indexed, posts yes?

Anybody with experience of themed blog but multiple industries from SEO point of view??

===>> Also any recommendation on theme - possible to have a custom header for each guy with their info???

Thanks
Mike

I build separate sites for each of our clients and static pages for their general products and services and then post to drive traffic.

I usually build separate sites for each client as well. Each site can be more specific to your customer's needs that way. Plus, I think it is just cleaner from an organization standpoint as well. Both pages and posts index the same. You can rank both just as easily. It is just personal preference.

I use Thesis theme for wordpress on almost all my blogs. It is very easy to customize.

      Hope that helps,

      Jack

I also build separate sites for each of my clients. I have tried a few themes including flexqueeze and headway, but now use woothemes which are fast, easy, and look beautiful. Takes about 10-20 minutes to learn how to use the first time and install and tweak fast.

I used overeasy theme for my recent painter client and he loves it: Over Easy | WooThemes

Unless they are only paying you a small fee DEF build each one a site for ranking purposes. Also, pages DO get indexed but posts are much better for driving traffic as Google sees them as more "recent". Congrats on the clients though whats your techniques for acquiring them?

Maybe do both - begin a local directory (which is a long term resource for you) and offer a listing as a bonus with the site build. Another Thesis fan here, but it can be a bit tricky customising it - depends on your coding ability.

Pages are not included in the RSS feed by default. There are plugins to correct this...

handyman was a friend - he said he will pay 20% of net contract

I build his business to current big contract in less then 60 days using craigslist and kijiji ads - no website (first phone calls started coming in 7 days - after changing headline he got big contract in 45 days) - brand new business from scratch - only asset cell phone

He told others and they start coming

I can't see why you can't do it all in one site. Home improvement involves many different keywords and you can say they are all in the same niche. You can use keywords like construction, painting, concrete, lumber and so on. You can also do them separate. Whatever floats your boat.

I think I'd put in a vote for separate sites - It gets really complicated building a template for every page you make and putting different header information on them. Better I think in the long run to build a site per customer, then you're not spending your time on page customization but page traffic.

    I'm a thesis "guy" too
