Hijacked Google Place Listing

I have a renovation client and saw their listing has been claimed.

The client can't remember anything claiming from Google. Someone else did.

How can you claim the "claimed" listing?

I have a feeling that someone is claiming all these to hostage businesses or to make their client rank better.

The thing is, they claimed the business but put a wrong address in it and almost no other info but the URL. With this, this listing will never be able to rank at all.

Any ideas?

Click on the "Edit this Place" link which is next to "Owner-Verified listing" in the upper right corner of the place page.

Then click on "Report a Problem" in the pop-up.

It will give you five choices and a comment box.

I suggest choice #1 - "Listing contains incorrect information or spam." and add a comment and contact info.

    Regards,

    John

This happened to me ones. I reported the listing and got it removed. Then you can start from scratch.
