Google Places operations

I'm gearing up to help business owners with their Google Places sites and have learned all the basics here in the forum, but I'm still missing the mechanics of how to execute the work, ie Verification and the monthly ongoing work.

Is there a WSO or training that will help me with this?

A concern I have with the business model is that I believe the Business Owner needs to be involved as far as verification etc., so wouldn't they discover when they go to Google Places they could have just done this themselves?

Thanks to all for the excellent education!...........Tim

I would try liquidSEO's google places cheat sheet.

While yes they can get the listing verified by themselves, they will still not rank #1. Nor do they wish to figure out how to do so or why it is beneficial to them.

I can figure out how to change my oil in my car and go to autozone to do it but yet I still end up going to a car shop to have it done.

Just here to see the shenanigans.

Redcell: Thanks for the heads up on the Google Places Cheat Sheet. I'll check it out, and when I get bogged down with too much Google Places work, I will get in touch with you for possible outsourcing....Tim

I agree. Why take the time if they can have someone do it for them? Most will need to verify via that little postcard that Google will send. If you are working with clients on this, instruct them to send you the code when they receive the postcard. They hired you to do this so they will send you the code. If they had wanted to do this themselves, they wouldn't have hired you in the first place.
