You can contact the marketing departments at universities in the cities you want to target. They often look for jobs for their students, usually as paid internships.

      Good luck!

Have you tried also searching college fan pages on Facebook for specific universities?

No worries Raja thanks for your time

On Fiverr people are asked to give feedbacks the moment the seller completes a project. For some tasks such as article writing and logo design you can judge immediately and give feedback.... however on things like backlinks and admin support how can you tell immediately if the works are done or not....I suspect that many ppl give positive feedbacks on these sellers on the basis that they deliver on time and there is a "report" given.... did they actually do the work for 4 dollars? Who knows?

    Hi Michael,

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I want to challenge you to rethink this part of your business model.

All the reasons you think college help is great are probably not valid. I have had a lot of employees of all ages and college students are not a good choice for 99% of what a marketer would need.

Sure you will be able to hire them, I've hired many for various reasons over the years. But you will most likely not get good results for the reasons I will list below:

NOTE: If you want to reach out to other college students, then hiring students is one of the only ways unless you are willing to spend a lot of money in advertising or have an online strategy such as facebook, etc.

But the management part (making sure your college students do what they promise) is really impossible from a distance, you are outsourcing to a completely different country, to a student population that is already too busy because of classes and studies, and many people mistakenly think that college students are going to be a motivated, low-price work force. Just the opposite is true: college students are usually from wealthier families and have higher expectations that the rest of the population in the USA.

Right now there is a recession in the USA, so there are many people who are unemployed and willing to work. You have to have an "outsourcing accountability" method to monitor their work flow.

The fact that you do not know how to go about finding these outsourced American workers shows me that you have not studied the whole outsourcing issue from your point of view as an Austrailian.

So here are some alternative suggestions:

Find a way to do your marketing online. "localized" offline marketing usually implies you have some kind of control over the area you are reaching out to, or that you have a partner or affiliate that has geographical control of a location.

If you were highly ambitious, you could split your project up into a multiple joint venture that can be split by Paypal, contact large membership websites in your niche and ask the owners to take a small percentage if they put out the info to get affiliates on a local level to do the local offline stuff. Then you have to have a method to make the sales online (like a sales page), and if it is pointed right to Paypal (or a merchant account or affiliate manager that can divide the account up into more than two payout divisions) then everyone can get paid.

But I'm shooting in the dark here because I have no idea what you're promoting or why.

You really must put more information if you want good feedback, because for example, if you had a product in the cosmetic industry, there are already ground marketing groups in niches here in America, for example - thousands of people in various MLM groups who would entertain outside products, etc.

      Hi David:

I just wanted to second your comments about college students. You were dead on. I have been on every side of this issue, trust me. Beginning when I was a writing tutor and a student myself. I have worked with students, hired them to help me out (for instance when recruiting salespeople) and had them as customers/prospects for services. I probably understand this demographic better than most. As do you, obviously.

Anyone who has not spent LOTS of time recently in the campus environment can easily lose touch with the reality of life for a typical college student. They tell us in marketing to "put ourselves in the shoes (or minds) of our prospects". That is certainly apropos to the question of considering a college student as a potential hire. As you said--they are essentially busy, hard to please and with a certain lack of follow-through. This is partly understandable---this IS after all a time of life for exploration. And there are MANY distractions. All I have to do is remember my own experience--anything that seemed like a "hassle" had to weighed against the endless attractions of campus life: dating, new friendships, exercise, etc. And of course the inevitably periods of catching up on the classwork itself And then there was learning about careers, etc.

So your advice to the OP and anyone else about students was VERY reality-based and accurate in my opinion.

Lest we not seem one-sided about students, I also see some good points. These, like the negatives, seem to flow from the "time of life" that we are talking about. Students are usually friendly and very open-minded. Willing to try new things. And many of them are articulate and flexible. As someone else on WF mentioned, they have a penchant for being more committed to things with a social dimension, creative potential and sense of fun. That's one reason a lot of students get involved with campaigns, for instance. I did. The energy was high, we did a lot of joking around, etc. And it was "interesting" for a while.

You can certainly find students for more "boring" tasks--people are still very individual in their background and nature. But at you suggest--the odds are not in your favor, especially at a distance. I would second your advice to try first to reach students online unless you have access to a very unique and reliable offline resource.
