Top Spot In Google For ServiceCity.Com - How To Move Forward?

Hi guys

So... a few days ago I was reading this forum and got an idea to register a domain name ServiceCity.com and I designed a wordpress site using Thesis theme and it's NUMBER ONE on Google for the search term;

Service City

Granted, it's not the biggest city with the largest population (around 250,000 )

How do I play it from here?

Should I, A: offer the site on lease to Service Providers in the city, B: Slap up a Service Providers details on it and show him it it, C: Something else?

What would you do in this situation and what have you done in the past for best results? How much would I charge for leasing it?

Etc...

Very new to this side of things so advice greatly appreciated!

Cheers

JM

If it is getting traffic I would sale ad space.

Slap some "Advertise here" banners on it and start prospecting for interested service providers. Pull up the yellow pages turn to that category and see who is purchasing ad space... I'm sure you can run with it from here....

That's something I never considered but wouldn't this type of site be much more effective for just one business to own?

Would you advise making it into a directory type website?

You are right you have got a few options. What you decide to do really depends on the niche and the amount of traffic that #1 spot delivers. You need to calculate roughly what this site is worth and then consider your options.

You could lease the site as you suggest, I wouldn't put a business' details on as a sales pitch myself.

Other options, as mentioned, sell advertising spots, plus: sell the site, sell the site and charge a monthly SEO service charge.

But it all comes back to what the site could be worth to a business.

I really like the idea of leasing sites simply because it allows me to have valuable business assets in the long term... which I do with my online marketing as well.

I don't think I fancy building sites to sell so personally I'd like to lease it.

I'm wondering how people have secured leases for websites... how they contacted the businesses and how they pitched it?

Minimum lease terms, cancellation charges, price increases written in the contract and so on?

          Thanks for all your help

          JM

            Hi there,

1.) check if adword ads show up for your Keywords "ServiceCity"
            2.) contact the advertisers
3.) offer them the better deal to advertise on a no1 spot in the organic listings

            Cheers

Thanks, that's another terrific idea that will come in handy as an added approach
