OFFLINE MARKETING

This might not be the correct section for this, so I apologize, but I have a quick question.

If you're an SEO consultant with a website, are you allowed to 'call out' competitors on their higher prices? Example:

"XYZ SEO Company charges $XXXX per month, while we only charge $XXX."

Ask a lawyer.

On a non-legal level you risk turning yourself into a commodity with a selling point like that. It encourages questions like "ABC is cheaper than you, why shouldn't I go with them?"

Pretty sure you can do it, but I wouldn't take that approach. From my experience, the ones shopping for the lower/lowest price are usually the biggest headache clients.

Not a lawyer, I think it is fine as long as it it true... additionally, FYI, as long as you are stating opinions you are certainly fine. We are the best, the other guys are too expensive, etc, etc.

But I wouldn't ever draw direct attention to a competitor. Just position yourself as the value leader and mention that "others charge up to xxxxx for the same service."

  As a lawyer, I don't mind answering. Of course you can call out clients on the facts. Be careful, though, of libel or slander. You can state opinions and facts that you can back up. You cannot be reckless with the facts without subjecting yourself to liability. Opinions are always okay, but you don't want to get into a battle about it. Just be careful.
