suggested a website re-design for client..

My clients business is based on getting leads for telecoms companies.

So obviously whoever lands on his website he wants them to fill up their details.

Now I advised him from the start his website was too cluttered..theres scrolling text going on..testimonials blinking about and everything and the lead entry form is in the middle but I feel all the clutter is quite distracting.

I suggested to him that I will do another subdomain website where I make a simple landing page to capture details (using the knowledge of how many internet marketing sites create their landling pages)

What do you guys think of this idea. Im running his PPC campaign and want to show him the difference.

Your thoughts /ideas are much appreciated

just dont make the landing page to typical, make it a bit informative and not all about reselling your product or service.

Well if you're good with PHP you could have the homepage load once for every new visitors IP address. Allowing you to save some time and not send them to another page once they've already visited the site.

Otherwise, I'm going to agree with ava. Make the landing page informational rather than the "Buy my stuff now!" sort of appeal. A good landing page is all about the initial 5 seconds. If you can keep them interested that long, they are more than likely to at least fill out the websites form.
