Things to Bring to an Appointment?

When I have an appointment set up to try and close a deal with a potential client, what are the essential things to bring?

- Sample of what you're selling...
- Invoice (where do you get invoices?)
- Contract (do you need a contract with a client?)
- Notepad and Pens to take notes of what they want

I'm just curious what you all bring, I don't want to show up at an appointment and have forgotten something essential.

If it helps, I'll be selling websites, google places, and a few other minor upsells

    Depends on why you're there.

    Mindmap
    SERPs printout
    On-site printout
    GKWT printout
    Various direct mail pieces
Recording of a phone call I made to their office/business
    Contracts
    Itemized breakdowns
    2 pens
    Highlighter
    notepad
    Biz cards
    Laptop w/ wireless
    Printouts for letter recommendations
    Kodak Zi8

I think that's typically what I bring. Don't feel like running to my car to check to see if I forgot anything.

Questions about their business & goals.
I'd go in with a "Tell me about your business" mindset. Then go from there about how you can help achieve that.

(This is assuming you haven't already done that.)

Maybe a promotional or special % discount at this time.. make them feel special and that your service is even more valuable. Possibly some testimonials from clients you worked with in the past, statistic numbers, problem - solutions graph and confident!
