Offliners...how do you pay for ur backlink services?

Do you simply just purchase them monthly from the WF hire section?
Or have you hired a Virtual Assistant (VA) to do them for you?

In the past I have always just hired from WF, but now that I am starting to get more and more clients, this seems quite inefficient to me. I would like to hire a VA, but dont know if I neccessary have all the knowledge to train on VA on backlink building.

Would love your input / insights.

Thanks,
GabeW

odesk. I just signed up with Luminous Solutions, Pakistan, Search Engine Optimization company! Results Guaranteed! - oDesk.

The reason I signed up with them is because a competitor of ours uses them. He is an insurance agency that deals only with contractors. He ranks in the top three for tough words like "contractors insurance". I found them by looking up his backlinks in Yahoo Site Explorer. So, I can't recommend them from personal experience, but I recommend them because a competitor of ours is kicking butt with them and I plan to do the same in our niches. If you can't beat em, join em.

I like to do videos and submit them through a distribution service. Tube Mogul is free. Use the desired keyword where appropriate. Never had any problems. And have always gotten very good rankings doing this.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Gabe,
This is just the question I was going to ask. I'm also a Local Offline Marketer in the States, but when I look at the WF for Hire, all the offers look "spammy". I don't need 2,000 backlinks for 1 URL, besides if a new website gets 2,000 backlinks in 2 months, you are looking to get Sandboxed or De-listed by Google.

What Backlink Services have you used for Local Offline? Appreciate a recommendation.

I am actually a little surprised this post isnt getting more input. I am not looking for any info on how to create backlinks or tips.

Like Mike106 commented, how are you fellow offliners providing backlinks to your clients? I cant imagine you all are manually creating backlinks for multiple clients. Also like Mike106, I worry about getting a client in trouble with Google.

I do know that on places like Odesk, you can hire someone to create very strict backlinks. But thought maybe others had some input on this critical aspect of doing offline work.

      Thanks

Many local business owners want to see where there links are going (i.e., what they are paying for). And they do not understand the use of bulk linkbuilding- in fact, several of my clients have gotten concerned when they see links to their sites on foreign forums and spammy looking blogs.

The great thing about most local businesses is that you can get high rankings (Google Places aside) without much of a linkbuilding effort. I have a special virtual assistant who is trained to find high quality blogs and forums for placing backlinks for most local clients. I hire most of my assistants on oDesk- it takes awhile to find reliable ones, but once you do, it is worth the effort.

There's quite a bit of posts on here, be it in the IM or the offline sections of this forum. But to add here, we do a combination of outsourcing and manual and automatic posting. We've tried a few combos and here is what works the best (best is measured by operational efficiency statistics, we use timedoctor, free for a while during beta). So here are the work "crews" you need. Ours are full time, some are part-time, some are fiverr workers. Since backlinks can come from a variety of activities (not to mention your traffic or other activities), I've included our "crews" manufacturing line breakdown.

      The full time crew:

      1. Hire a VA to grab for one-offs. You want these folks to be well versed in a lot of different organized tool sets, for example, you do not want an unorganized VA . Check out how they use excel, give them about 10 pieces of data and ask them to organize it in an excel spreadsheet as a test. If the spreadsheet comes back looking great and color coded. You've got a winner. Think of these sets of VAs as you ADD crew. Yes we all have a bit of ADD in us. For example, you need a quick marketing campaign, a fan page built, you're testing some IM guru's new system or you need to know who to mail and organize your calling list.

      2. Hire a solid writer. with fast data entry input.Or just get the fast data entry input. These are the blog commenters, article posters, article spinners crew.

      3. The web guys - managing a few hundred blogs can turn into a management nightmare if plugins are out of date, splash pages need to be uploaded videos posted, etc. these guys manage the cpanel, DNS, plugins and error troubleshooting.

      4. The social guys. Get a few guys who know how to be your community managers for your clients. they drill down deep into the changes imposed on either youtube, facebook or twitter and cross-function with Team #3 and #1 above.

      The part time crew

odesk, GAF, fiverr for one off blog creation, splash pages, graphics work , flyer design, postcard, article and content and report writers, etc.

I could be persuaded otherwise to hire a full time article writer, however, after trying that, we thought it best to use "best of breed outsourced" writers. it turned out to save us money.

      Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the good input / ideas. Some of it feels daunting... But with time I will get it figured out.

At this stage, I want to start simple. I just want to hire someone / company to do blog / forum commenting for each of the niches that my various clients are in on a regular basis.

Would I be best to just find someone on Odesk for this? Basically, what would be the most cost effective (with best quality) way do you fellow offliners recommend?

        Thanks!

Try out someone first. Use odesk if you are familiar with that portal. It's also a good place to start. Tell the person it's a part time to full time depending on their performance. Let them bid for work, see their background and try them out. If they perform well, hire them full time as independent contract. But don't offer a full time gig upfront until you try them out. You can always try out two workers side by side for comparison.

I can recommend Mega Link Blaster - do a search for it on the forum.

Build several tier 1, high quality web 2.0 properties or article directorys with unique content and then build links to these and not the main website.

Make sure the properties are do follow and point to pages within the local website and branch out. You will see a lot of power with this and the guys who run it (Don and Jeremy) are great guys.

I've been doing a bit of both:

I have a guy who helps with our backlinking that works with us full time.

And I will use LinkWheel.net to do link wheels for us.

I'm starting to like the LinkWheel idea as I can just pay for a package when a company buys that package.

It's less profit for me but also less work.

Honestly you don't need to build back links by buying some one package here or anywhere else.

My sites and listings in places rank without outsourcing back linking packages. Setting your site up right is a key factor to rank for your chosen keyword phrases.

I do backlink for some clients.
I did everything manually, never used any tools.
Surely I won't be able to do 2000 backlink in short time.
Even posting 1 comment will take some times to think and decide the right comment so that it won't be deleted or considered as a spam.
