I don't usually comment or post but I just used fiverr to get or I should say buy likes to my fan page. It was just five bucks and it not only let's others see your page has fans or likes but it also gives you a bit of confidence and makes you want to post more. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck

the most effective, not really difficult to implement and quite obvious ways to promote your fan page:

Create fresh content for people to want to join
      Invite your friends to join
      Try social ads
      Promote on Twitter
      Leverage your email contacts

We build what I call Feeder personal accounts, get up to 5,000 Friends and then suggest page to all Friends and also get the Fan Page into the News Feed as often as possible.
I also get the clients email data base and send a quality looking HTML e-mail with a deal or offer to become a Fan.
If its a brick and mortar, then I have them put a display placard or handout on the counter. Giving the client a discount or special to become Fan.

I think you should start with a Facebook page, especially if you don't have a website, simply because there are so many people you know on Facebook. Facebook has surpassed Google even recently just as most Web site and 50% of all Internet users of Facebook and check every day and spend at least 30 minutes there.

Well, the question is quite broad and it varies from case to case. But if you already have an up and running business, why not try using a QR code, which could lead to a page, showing some short info for your Facebook Fan Page and a "Like" button? Of course you could do that via flyer marketing, but I think you would get much better results if you put this in e-mails or on the bills that you give to your clients for the pricing (just a couple of examples). I don't think cold calls would have any effect in this case. But anyway, facebook is a social network and thus, it requires time for your fan page to gain authority and this could only happen with a lot of work and constant relevant updates.

1.- I buy clicks from Facebook.

3.- I go to social sites (diig, reddit) and post the pages there for people to join and make comments.

This is something I've followed with great results:

      1) Create a Facebook ad campaign (watch how-to youtube tutorials if you're unsure how).

      2) Target a specific demographic (age, race, gender, location).

      3) Create a high quality image that captures the users attention (perhaps using a red frame outline to the ad photo) to get higher click through rates.

      4) Keep your add simple and direct. (ie: Click "Like" if you like Home Gardening for Mothers).

      5) Engage with your fans. Ask them their opinion on things, and ask them to share posts.

      Best,

            2. I sign up to Twiends and get a few hundred fans instantly. This gets the ball rollin' and gives other facebooker's the impression that many people like your page. For some reason, it's harder to get a "Like" on a page with only a few fans.

            3. I put the facebook app on the main website (this attracts a good amount of signups)

            4. Put a flier in the front offering an incentive for signing up as a facebook fan and checking in.

            5. Hold a contest where the winner with the most `comments' wins. The current fans will invite their friends to comment on their post/photo/video/ etc, giving your page exposure. I find this to be a great strategy for finding local fans.

            6. Provide your readers with quality content / links / videos on a consistent basis. Remember that facebook is not a place to sell but to stay in touch with your clients.

I have found the best way to get likes is to offer something for free that appeals to the group or niche you are targeting. Couple that with Facebook PPC and you will get a lot of "Likes".

Fiverr works ok too but you get a lot of overseas likes.

Concur. There is valuable info you can get for nothing or next to nothing, put it together into a little packet of gems, and add value to the user's experience with very little effort. Your fan won't give a cr*p about your effort...it's the BENEFIT to them that matters.

      Facebook is just another platform.

Of course, what we like is that it's super easy to provide value and that leads directly to trust and then sales. Very fast. Very cheap.

Add value. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I put "Join me on Facebook" links on my other pages to help people join my Fan Page there. I have too many people on my regular Facebook page, so when people want to "friend" me, I send an email via Facebook to join me at my Fan Page.

I also put links to what I am working on (my blogs, etc.) on my Fan Page, along with interesting links and sites I discover. I will be using some other suggestions I found here on the thread too. Thanks for those! :-)

After the spammers and bots took over myspace, facebook became strict on all forms of promotion. Even group pages and fan pages don't give the results they used to. Still, you can get some good traffic if you put your mind to it.

  • There is a lady on Facebook called Jo Barnes who has a page called Social Network Academy that has loads of tips and other free stuff about how to leverage Facebook. Get 10,000 Fans is also another page worth checking out.

As regards to buying likes, I have done this and it is ok to give your page credibility but those people wont turn into buyers. I think a better strategy from fiverr is to get someone with a big fan base to suggest your page to his/her own fans. You wont get as many likes but at least you know that they are actually interested in your page/service.

Typically when I create fan pages for local businesses, this is what I typically do to set them up and promote them:

      1. Create Custom Landing Page with special offer only available to those who like the page
      2. Send out invite to all friends (goal is to get at least 25 fans as soon as possible to get vanity url, i.e. facebook.com/BizName)
      3. Order fans from fiverr, WF or other service providers to make the page look popular
      4. Have client print up flyers to put in store that have facebook vanity URL and QR code that points to facebook page
      5. Launch local targeted FB PPC campaign to get fans
      6. Load up HootSuite with two months of postings to drip onto the facebook wall automatically

I join niche groups that have people that I want to target. By posting in the targeted groups people will send you a friend request. After I've accepted the friend request I send them a message saying thanks for the request and if you like to stay updated with ______ you can connect with me here as well.

Works great because you know they're interested in your product or service from the group. This way I attract people to me

Facebook fan promotion is simple if you are looking for targeted fans or non targeted fans.

          1. What are you promoting? Start communicating with individuals on Facebook who are interested in the same things you like and invite to join or become friends.

          2. Fiverr...in the search field type in: suggest facebook fans
          guarantee facebook fans

          3. Newspaper ad...small ad giving them an incentive if individual like group or page

          4. Twitter...type in your subject and find individuals who engage in the same activity invite, ask them for suggestion or comments then invite them to your fan page

          5. Craiglist...put a small ad or have someone to create it tell them what you are doing invite to fanpage or give them incentive

          6. Youtube...create a funny video or a video about what you are promoting and invite giving your fanpage address

          7. Flyers is also good...pay someone to pass out or go to a College, Walmart, or a large shopping area and pass out (it is always nice to receive permission before passing out flyers)

          8. Print business cards leave wherever you go also one thing I do when I leave generous tips then I give them a business cards

Hope this well help with Fan Page promotion if you think about it online and offline work together now things are growing at a fast rate

I think using the ppc service with facebook is the best way to get fans, not only are you get targeted fans to your fan page but you can also sell to them products that you think they will like. such as putting on your campaign hit like if you love dogs, and most people that hit like will either have a dog or love them, and there are a lot of products out there for dogs, so that is one way to promote a product on a fan page. and it is very easy to get 1 cent clicks with facebook if you have targeted fan page that you are sending them too.

Start a blog, and have a section on the side of the blog mentioning your facebook fan page. Readers will automatically click on the "Like" button if they feel that your blog content is good. You could also use advertising, but it's not worth it in my opinion.

The bottom line is that you have the option to lead them to a facebook page, or to your website where you can sell them on your free offer or sale. Weigh out the pros and cons of this, and make a logical decision.

The best way I believe is once you have your page up and running switch over to use Facebook as that page - then look for similar pages and join them and then start interacting with everyone. Give advice, make worthwhile comments and befriend members on that Page.

That way your page gets exposure, other participants will click through to your page plus those you befriend will be inclined to share your page and comments creating a viral effect.

Rinse and repeat and bob's your uncle .
