Canadian SMS Provider

Does any one know of a good Canadian SMS Provider?
Also, has anyone used Yeez - Text Message Marketing|Mobile Marketing|SMS Marketing|YeeZ ? What's the difference between using a long code vs. short code?

EZTexting.com does it for Canadians, you just have to click on the Canadian short codes for pricing.

    Never used yeez....

but the difference between a short code and a long code is:

Short code is about 5 digits typically, so that it's easy to remember.
(For example, the "donate to japan" ads on the weather network etc right now, is the code 30333 for donating $5)

A long code is typically a phone number.... which the downside is it is usually difficult to remember. (i.e., "text the phrase money to 5745439874")... who's gonna remember that?

However, they say a long code typically always works as it is a regular phone #, so I don't think you need keywords the same.

    Hope this helps.

      btw - be careful.

In looking further, I can almost guarantee yeez is using SMTP, NOT SMNP which is what you want for true text messaging.

SMTP is simply an email format, which many mobile systems will reject thinking its spam (cuz that's what spammers use).

      Cheaper is NOT always better.

I can assure you that YeeZ Mobile does NOT use SMTP. We are a true SMS solution.

We have been selling Long Codes for almost two years (we also provide Short Code integration). We offer Local Long Codes in Canada and the US at best-in-market pricing.

We have our own proprietary system, not built on top of someone else's, and offer a turn-key SMS solution.

PM me for more details. Thanks.

Actually, you mean SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer protocol) is what you want your service provider to utilize...

Ah! Thanks Amber. I finally understand the difference! I had heard that some providers were using a web based system, and that many such text messages didn't get through, but couldn't figure out how to know. Now I do thanks to you.

Why did you chose EZTexting.com over others? Just curious as to your criteria as there's so many choices it freezes the mind.

Thanks Amber. I was wondering if they were using SMTP.
Also, was wondering why you chose EZtexting?

I don't quite understand the difference between the standard message and the express message, other vendors don't seem to have different type of SMS, but for express message, the price is 7 cents, it's kind of expensive, I don't know which one I should use.

You should really consider going beyond just SMS in mobile, you should consider a cross-channel promotion

I'll second Jay that it is a true system. I was skeptical when I heard their message pricing, but their system is true SMPP.
