How much do you charge for a Google Places listing?

I know this is a very broad question and I tried a search but it didn't really give me what I was looking for. I'm just trying to get an idea of what people are charging and what a fair price would be. I know it probably depends on the business and their budget, so maybe someone could give some examples? Thanks Warriors!

It could range from $59 to $599 for setup and creatives. No optimizing, submissions or other promotional work. I used to charge $299 for initial setup and submission to local directories. Any additional SEO and promo work was extra.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the budget. It depends on how much time you think it will take you and how much you want to charge for your time.

But you can't ask such a broad question and expect to get a good answer. It really depends on how competitive the listing is going to be and do you just do the listing or do you guarantee a spot in the seven box?

As much as I think I can get while minimizing the possibility of them feeling they got ripped off in the future. (buyers remorse does not typically lead to referrals)

Feeling out clients and writing proposals takes experience to master.

It really depends on a variety of things. You don't want to just simply put up a listing. You want to offer value. If they don't have a website, pitch them a website. If they have a website, and no places page, offer them press releases, pictures, video, etc. Can be anywhere from a few hundred to a thousand.

Every market will be a little bit different so this could be much higher were a little bit lower depending on your market.

I charge $300 to set it up in $150 a month to maintain it. This is not just for a Google places listing, though. That in itself is going to be of minimal benefit to the business.

I offer them much fuller service. I call it my local listings package.

In addition to Google Places I do hand submission to other local listings sites and to directories specific to their business market. It's a complete listing in Google places and optimized. We do monthly updating of coupons, promotions and events, optimized for the keywords that we're targeting. We also integrate that with picture slideshow music videos that we upload to YouTube and Google Places. For this we target five local keywords.

My prices are actually dirt cheap. I could easily double this and only lose a little bit of business, but this package is almost always in addition to other packages that we're already working on for the client so this becomes an add-on product for us.

      Hope that helps.

I agree with both Ed and Nameless. I do a "google" package which includes places, analytics, alerts and webmaster tools. I do a $250 setup for all that. But that is really just setup. I charge $250 a month to maintain, link build and optimize, but only an hour a week ($50 an hour). I could probably charge more, and might for other clients, but my first client was paying $250 per month already, so I knew that is what they were looking to spend.
