FREE Offline Money Making Idea That Could Make You $$$$

Hello all

Just a little background to this story.

My older brother is a truck driver, my cousin just started his own ecommerce site, one of my best buddies at work is the logistics/transport manager for one VERY LARGE manufacturer, one of my childhood best friends is a logistics expert for the Australian Defence Force, one of my old gym friends drives a van for Australia Post and my old boss is the cousin of one of Melbournes largest courier company firms.

OK what the hell does logistics have anything to do with you and the Internet?

Well, with more and more people buying goods online, means that more and more transport services are required to move those goods around the planet. Its common sense!

Take a look at this brief report which was written up for the european logistics association:

Paypal says Australias ecommerce market is worth "$26.86 billion" in 2010

Forrester Research estimates that the United States online retail industry will be worth $279 billion in 2015

eBay has more than 90 million active users

And all of these things are only increasing.

This means that the demand for transport and logistics has also increased.

Recently ive seen contractors doing the work that the Australia Post used to do in my area because of the increase in parcels being sent.

Just today i was at the chiro with my partner and on the way out i noticed the office across the hall which had been empty for a while had a sign up saying "Now Open For Business" it was a new courier service specialising in as per their poster "Online & eBay".

So.... Then...

How are you going to cash in on this?

Simple. I seen many posts about people not having enough money, yada yada yada. Or people asking how they can make extra money. Well it might not be millions and it might not be internet fame, but its money.

  • Ring local couriers and see if they need new drivers
  • Ask couriers and postal services if you can contract for them
  • Ring large online ecommerce sites in your city and ask if they need help delivering their goods at a cheap price
  • Consider starting your own locally based transport or courier service where you offer to collect peoples goods when they buy online from the nearest city
  • Or simply look at online ads for drivers and respond to them
Generally all that people ask for is a reliable van or 1 tonne truck/ute, a few years of driving experience and BAM! You got yourself some extra money, not with the Internet but because of the Internet.

Just take a look at the MASSIVE number of listings at Australias largest job site:

SEEK - Couriers, Drivers & Postal Services Jobs. Couriers, Drivers & Postal Services Job Search Australia

My older brother at this very moment is considering buying his own ute and strictly advertising his services as "Online Transport and Logistics".

There you go.

It is an offline business idea.

I don't think it is a very good one though...

If I sell via eBay, why would I contact someone locally to deliver the goods, when I can call UPS for door-to-door delivery worldwide for one low prices?

I can see getting started in the Hot Shot business, delivering stuff across town in minutes... That is after all how many of the shipping companies got started, by offering an option to the postal service.

But I cannot see a hot shot business focused on delivery products sold on eBay. You would be adding one more layer to your shipping costs, and in my mind, that is an unjustifiable expense and hassle.

It doesnt directly have anything to do with internet marketing.

Have you ever seen those little fish that swim under the big shark? Well the internet is the big shark and transport services along with many other things are the little fish.

That and also if you are already an online marketer reading this, how difficult would it really be for you to build a list of people (businesses) interested in using a cheaper transport service and then creating something for them and making money off of it?

After being seriously burned 2 days ago, by a printer who used fastway couriers, who lost my package, a delivery of flyers, and costing me thousands in revenue, days of my time, and possibly future business...

I'd have to say, I'd only use an established, reliable, courier service from now on.

The printer I used were, I thought anyway, reliable.

I'd hate to to think anyone who can drive a car can just contract for a courier... without any proper training.

I learned the hard way, that this must be the case.
