Can anyone recommend a good eMail program?

I am looking for a program to send plain text messages, approximately 100 -200 a day. Would need the ability to import email address data from a csv file and ideally have a built-in smtp server. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Might you be better off using something like Aweber or somesuch? I've used desktop tools in the past and the success rate has been pretty low.

Thanks for the suggestion SgtBadass, I thought of using Aweber, just want to explore what other apps people may have used & liked.

Email clients and servers are not really that far apart from the actions they perform. When you are looking into how to get them to send or receive the biggest thing you have to look at is how the mail host/server is going to treat your actions. A client like outlook or any other application that sends and receives is just a GUI of sorts.

Places like host gator and my server have a list program available in the cpanel section where you can set up a list and autoresponders as well as broadcast messages. However, one of the major advantages of using Aweber or similar is that it will not get shut down because you are sending more than 100 emails a day. This is why the "optin" is so important - some people will forget and report you or other kinds of situations.

Because of that, client applications that are setup to send out mass mailings are kind of slim pickins and or shady applications. Having said that....

You might want to take a look at send blaster.

Aweber is out, not so easy getting emails imported per their anti-spam policies. I think GetResponse may be a little more lenient in that area.

However, you do state that you need a "program" as opposed to a service. One of the biggest factors when it comes to doing your own email campaigns will be your ISP's policies with regards to mass emailing. Since most ISP's/carriers currently abide by anti-spam mandates, you will also need remote mail server services.

I use Interspire.com seems expensive but will pay for itself in no time.

I've used the bat, which was pretty helpful for what I needed it for. I needed to set delayed response times for autoresponding. I had a cracked version but think it's pretty cheap, probably can't compare to Interspire tho.
