Multiple Businesses, same niche??

Hi there all, quick question. I currently provide Social Marketing (facebook/twitter/youtube) and some SEO to some offline clients. I keep getting requests from other clients in the same niche. What are your thoughts on providing these services for multiple companies in the same niche? Would it be to difficult? Not ethical?

2nd Question - I also offer newsletter marketing, double optin, to around 93,000 local individuals. I would like to start charging the area businesses in this niche for advertising in the newsletter. What are some average prices..I know it will depend on the market but an looking for a good jumping point..dont want to charge $100 cpm and find out the average is $2. lol. The list is targeted and in the entertainment niche (bars, nightclubs) any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

To your first question, it depends. Are you telling your clients you're going to be getting them more business? Or are you just a "social media manager"? If just the manager, then that's fine, IMO.

As for your 2nd question, I recently was charged $1k to advertise to 53,000 working women professionals. That was a one-time blast with my ad only. I'd just a flat fee to blast it out. Say, $500. And as the depend grows, then up your prices. But reality is, how responsive is the list? That what you need to work on, then you can demand a certain price point.

If you're talking about Local SEO then I'd stick with one client per niche, per area...this has 2 benefits 1. it builds client trust in you and your services. 2. If they ever decide they want to quit using your services you can politely inform them you've had several
enquiries from their competition, they might just change their mind.

This is something I have been thinking about too. What I have decided to do is offer basic services such as website builing, G places set up, email set up and processing to all in the niche, but offer exclusive monthly SEO for the first to buy it.

This works well in two ways.
      1. You are "encouraging" a business in each niche to pay you a monthly fee.
      2. Asuming you do a good job with the SEO, they will not leave but if they do you will have a queue of businesses that are already clients willing to pay you even more.

Can't help on this one I'm afraid except to suggest that you look to buy an advertisement in a similar list and see what you would be charged.
