**Alright Warriors Giving Up The Good For Local Marketing!

Hey guys,

I have been pretty successful at my local business and noticed some people are struggling well no fear, as I am here to give value and get you started.

Step 1) See your local business as you are helping them. Too often most people get in the mindset of trying to get clients instead of clients running to them. So get confident and get in the right frame of mind is key!

Step 2)Map out all your services! If you don't know what you do then how can you expect your customers get you. How many back-links are you offering clients? How many articles are you writing?

Step 3)Look at your local business as a system. Learn to look at what the strongest points of your business are! For me I know the main components are- Lead generation, sales, and implementation. Know the biggest strong points of your business so you won't get overwhelmed. It is easier than you think

Step 4) Outsource, outsource, and outsource- I made this mistake in the beginning. Again you have to look at the value you are providing to people and understand that with a more effective person than you . You can charge even more money monthly. I made this grave mistake and was charging people $100 bucks a month

I raised my prices to $1,000 to $5,000 dollars per month and my headaches went down and pockets went up

All in all have fun and when you make more money from the method above, let me know.

      Hey, Neil,

I just wanted to tell you that the very first thing to do while searching for a reliable and affordable local SEO services is to educate yourself at least briefly on the topic. I would also point out some rules that you need to negotiate with the company you are going to eventually hire:

      1) What you want from them - the whole local SEO campaign might include many elements, so you have to point them out, so you know what exactly you are paying for
      2) Never hire someone who is not going to give you full access and timely information for everything that is happening with your local SEO
      3) Never hire someone who promises extremely fast results (less than 1-2 months) and who is ready to do everything to deliver you these results. NEVER. Even if this person offers incredibly low price - they will just harm your reputation with shady and spammy practices.

      I hope I was helpful

Ahhh sorry, think we got our wires crossed...I was asking if you could recommend any good outsourcers as I'm already providing local SEO/ Google places optimisation to my clients

I've outsourced some of my work in the past but the quality of the work provided wasn't great...

        Many thanks

My recommendations are honestly just outline first what you are great at. Focus on your strengths. I learned this the hard way. I am good at selling so I am slowly letting go of other things in my business.

Also learn a little project management or bring someone in who does. This is the key to outsourcing because you know what tasks to focus on.

Even if you have to start with odesk, make sure you check their feedback. Also give them a test task to start. Many people who outsource make this mistake. If it is a great worker they won't mind taking on a test task.

      Hope this helps

    Great advice,

And like you said, don't under charge for your services because you will attract the wrong type of customers!

For the first few couple of clients, I actually think it's a good idea. Those hard customers ask tons of questions we hadn't thought of, so we get ready for those objections when the better prospects are pursued. And a few PITA ones gives us a good lesson to go after a better quality of clients!

I agree 100% percent no difference in this business or any business the hagglers normally are not worth it in the end.

You got many great points here. I'm considering and looking for a few ways to start marketing on local business in my area as well. It's awesome how you outsource these work and being able to raise your price to $5000 per month. What resource do you use to find the right person for the job?

Awesome info! I ran my business for 3 years and took a long break from last spring up to a couple months ago. I got burnt out - selling too low and doing all of the work myself.

After taking some time to reflect and regroup I am now in a very different mindset. My time is much better spent talking to business owners and selling services (at the right prices!) and paying more talented people to do the "work". Feels much more like a business rather than a prison

    Great advice!

    Thank you!

I am just starting out and can already see that I am under charging. The cheaper ones have been giving me head aches too! I have a guy calling me 2-3 times/day asking for updates on his site.

    Live & learn, I guess
