Flyer distribution business?

Hey warriors, I was just wondering how hard would it be to start a flyer distribution business. I got the idea when I went out this morning for a smoke and noticed a door hanger for my local pizzeria.

I figured it would be a great idea for my nephew & I... he's only 16 and I could use him and his friends to distribute them for me

I don't see any huge flaws with it. Just wanted to see some of your opinions on the matter. I know real estate agents use this a whole bunch along with other local businesses.

    in my opinion the best way to go will be with CPA offers, I will promote CPA offers on those flyers, you can pay people to distribute them or agree on a share revenue model, that will be a lot more profitable an far less problematic than doing a business based just on the Flyer distribution model

      I agree. I've never done this, but I can see how it could work BIG TIME.

    ? Does your nephew and his mates figure it would be a good idea for you to set them to work on a distribution chain for you? :confused:

    the old sayings pop up, family business and pre setting or assigning roles to those who have not even heard of your idea could be dangerous.

    16 year old boys ? - I think chasing girls, climbing in to hot cars and cruising the mile may be more their scene and those hangers my just find the nearest dumpster.

    The idea has some merit but maybe a new mode of delivery - semi retired or just / people looking to keep fit and earn a few $ may be one way to skin the cat.

      I'm sure he would plan on helping them, and in the process also monitoring what they are doing. Believe it or not SOME 16 year-olds actually like to work and earn some money every once in a while. LOL

        Have a few of those teenagers young adults myself, and they both work, go to uni / full time, so i understand they have can and do have good work ethics.

        I suppose my point was more in pre deciding what another person would or would not do without consultation or imposing it as a, this is what you are now doing rule onto them in a way that is not one they opted to do out of their own will.

    Anthony, it's actually a good idea. For years I knew a woman and her son who operated such a business. ...and at least to my eye, it was successful. They made sure to build a relationship with all the local PRINTERS, so when customers came in to have flyers printed, they got many referrals for delivery service.

    Realtors, Insurance, local MLM guys, Contractors, Painters, etc. were also regular clients of theirs. People do have to trust that you'll deliver and in a timely fashion, but there is definitely demand out there.

          Flyer distribution is big business. After all if there wasn't a lot of money to be made, newspapers and mail service will quickly stop this service. If you charge five cents for the ad delivered, and you have 10 leaflets per bag, you can make $ .50 for each gross. After you pay your overhead, which includes your carrier, you should have enough left over to make a tidy profit.

            Flyer Distribution is an AWESOME business. I made loads of money in it, then I started another business. You will get in shape- no doubt!

            Talk to your CPA account manager first to see if they allow it, some of them will.

            I never did CPA or Clickbank, only brick and mortar business and my own business... best response I ever had in my business was from flyers... however, sign of the times, it is now the internet.

            I am looking at offers right now to do just that... go door to door. I will think of it as free advertising for my own service, even make a profit.

            My only suggestion is to find business willing to pay a bit more, and focus less of having too many clients. It's not worth it. However, with CPA and clickbank offers, you cut out the need to find clients.

                It depends on your service. Food menus did good everywhere, but things like carpet cleaning, window cleaning, landscaping, obviously it would be houses.

                As far as permits go, I had them, but if *I* were starting over I feel it it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission. A slap on the hand and you get one anyways. Also.... apartments will *always* kick you out. I did apartments at night/very early morning, when I did them.

    Just a hint from an old timer with some experience. Be sure to check out your local solicitation laws first to see if you have to register or get a permit. Might save some hassle.

    I think this is a great idea!

    All you have to do it print good quality Flyers and get the distributed in a place which attracts a crowd like some garden or a children's amusement park.

    You can also use innovative techniques and ways for Flyer Distribution Services
