Got my client's site to page 1, then it dropped, now it's back. What is going on?

I got my client's site to page 1 of Google, then all of a sudden it dropped off for about a day or two. Now it's back on the first page.

I have been trying to be cautious with the work I do and not be spammy with the content.

Does anyone know about this type of search engine ranking behavior?

Yeah, it's doing the Google "dance". They might be doing an algo. change or who knows? If your links aren't spam then I probably wouldn't worry too much. Just always use good, solid, and readable content with articles, prs, 2.0 properties, etc.

Daily I would check the site. Then the client's office manager who is a micro manager sent me an email asking questions about where the site was. This person has a lot of time on their hands. It's back in place now. Maybe it's the google dance.
