Hi, when promoting a offline business, for example "fishing", and there site was called riverfishing.xxxx but you wanted to promote there site using other keywords, like "trout fishing", "salmon fishing" etc what is the best way to go about it.

If the domains were available, .com/.net/.org/.co.uk for those keywords would you buy them or would you create articles targetting those keywords, and send them back to the main website that way,

thanks in advance, Mick.

I would start off writing 10 articles for each keyword that you want to target pointing to the main website. Or I would use free blogging programs such as blogger or WordPress and create a mini site for each keyword with the articles within them pointing to the main website. If you start getting some traffic and conversions then you know it is worth it to purchase the keyword domain names

I agree with Claude. In addition, I would use Google Wonder Wheel on your keyword to discover complementary keywords to your target keyword. Use free blogging sites, add these keywords as your "url" and write about these topics. This is called Latent Semantic Indexing and adds a great deal of strength to your main site.

I think it's great to create a new domain that is exact to a nice keyword. So you must perform keyword research and just re-direct your domain to your original site. But, it's also nice the idea in targeting the keyword using the articles.

I would buy the domains but only because I think it is better that way. Don't take my word for it though I'm not 100% sure.
