QR codes dead?

WF is the first I saw of QR codes, so this may be of interest to some.

    Japan is somewhere about 150 light years ahead of us in technology. Ask
    some of the Warriors who live in Japan how the future of QRs looks from
    their vantage point. Many Japanese don't have PCs or walk around with
    laptops. Smartphones have taken over the culture there.
    Kevin Riley, Craig Desorcy. Maybe you could come on in and tell us all how
    dead QR codes are.

    sorry dont mean to come across as abrasive am very passionate about QR codes lol and the follow up comments on articles that have been pushed out the past 24hrs claiming QR codes are dead has me thinking WTF

    QR codes can be a great tool for marketers and business owners if embraced correctly, i would hate to think negative articles and comments about QR codes would make some potential adopters pass it by and miss out on a great opportunity

    No, you're cool, Scaub, I'm still curious about them. But, yeah, when I started Googling them today and find these articles, it does give me pause. I just didn't know if warriors had seen the articles, because I hadn't seen it mentioned here. And, I am far from a techie, so I don't have a dog in the QR vs Near Field whatever other than finally trying to get up-to-date :-)

      Don't believe everything you read! I already have 5 new customers which I am setting up QR codes and developing promotions for them using these "puppies." It can be lucrative right now.

      The key is how you apply them in the marketing strategy for your customers. The QR code itself is a novelty IMO.
