Client Interview Form
The real question becomes: What questions do you have on the interview form? What information is absolutely necessary and what is just fluff? Yes, I know the information you must have changes a little, based on the type of business the client has, but certain information transcends the business type. I understand the questions you ask will vary based on the products and services you offer. But, there are certain questions that will pertain to the vast majority of businesses. Such as:
How effective are your current internet marketing strategies?
(This will give you an idea of the importance they place on internet marketing and what strategies they are using now.)
What are you happy with?
(What strategies they are having success with and are comfortable with.)
What do you think your company could do better on the internet?
(Tells you what products and services will be easier to sell to a client.)
How would you rate your current website?
(If you have done your research you have been on the site and know what is right and wrong with the site.)
What do you like about it?
(Tells some things they would like to keep if you redesigned the site.)
What would you do differently, if you were building it now?
(Everything they say after this question is a reason to redesign the site. Make sure you list everything they say.)
I noticed that you do/do not, have a Facebook icon on your site. How active is your company with Social Media?
(You should have checked on Facebook, Twitter, etc and know what these pages look like. This can open doors to many more business opportunities.)
How strongly do mobile shoppers impact your business?
(Very few clients know the answer to this question. It gives you the opportunity to open their eyes to an exploding industry.)
Do you have a mobile version of your site?
(This one is pretty obvious.)
Have you seen what your site looks like on a mobile phone?
(Show the client how difficult it is use his site on a mobile phone. There are more mobile phones than PC's and mobile shoppers are more likely to purchase. The potential in mobile is huge.)
There are many, many more question you can and should ask.
I don't want to make the thread to long, but I wondered what other consultants thought. What type interview forms are being used by other Warriors. I would love to get your thoughts on this issue, so please leave a comment. Should have an effective client interview form you would like to share, please do. With threads like this and other threads on this forum we all can learn to provide better products and services to our clients. The end results of satisfied customers is we make more money and get more referrals that help us to grow our businesses. That is success by anyone definition.
