OFFLINE MARKETING

I am pretty excited. Why?

Because I got my first offline client today.
I initiated contact through Craigslist last week. I emailed the client who had posted an ad looking for a website to be built along with marketing services.
We emailed eachother several times over the course of the week and on Friday we decided to have a phone call. I then called him today and we had a 30 minute talk. I impressed him with my knowledge and he is going to pay me $199 for a basic leads website as well as $500/mth for SEO. I will not go into much more detail than that but offline is GRREEEEEEEAAAT!

Congratulations, Mike! If this is a lead generation website, I'm fairly certain you set him up with an autoresponder and opt-in form? Exactly what SEO services will you be providing him on a monthly basis? Also, what type of business is this?

  3 leads for the week is great Rugman. Close just 1 a week, and you will have a very strong business built-up in only 2 months.

  Thats a great point. Make sure to focus on your backend and 1 close a week can make you great money in a couple months.
  
  Make sure to check out how people are going from 1 service and expanding their portfolio with other services and you'll be on track to do workkk!

Congrats Mike! I'm right with you, I got my first customer not too long ago and it is a great feeling when all the hard work that has been put in and practiced, finally pays off!

Email can be rather slow and unpredictable, I'm glad you're learning firsthand how powerful and effective calling can be - when you need money quickly and can spend some time on the phone, literally nothing is quicker if your goal is to bring in some business almost immediately!

Well done. When you have made a little bit of progress ask for a referral and keep your customer informed with feedback on progress. Thank him/her in writing (thank you card) for the referral and this positive reinforcement may induce them to give you another referral. Keep repeating and never forget to say thank you in a tangible form.

  I agree. I have been busy with schoolwork also so it has been hard to work on the weekdays. Also I have other commitments on the weekends but try to work when I can.
