Hows My Cold Calling Script?

As a new Warrior I found a few "Warrior like survival skills" that it takes to do some cold calling.
I will be doing this for offline local business websites mobile sites SEO and hopefully other services.
I am sure it can be used for other cold calling.
Not really knowing how to go about this and searching asking at some other forums taking a little from here and there and just using my own common sense which is hopefully my inner Warrior I came up with this cold calling scenario or script.

Please let me know what you all think.

Start out with something like this: "Hi is the owner available? once on the phone: it's [your Name] from [your business name], just calling to see if you are open to the idea of new inexpensive ways to promote your business and get new customers?"

NOTE: By announcing your name and name of the business which they do not know, you are creating a feeling that perhaps they know you and taking away the "rude shield" HOPEFULLY!

than just sit tight as long as it takes for an answer which may feel like a decade

some expected negative answer examples may be:

"No can't afford to do anything right now"
"No not interested"
"Not at this time"
"Not at all click"(hangs up)
"No way you guys call to much"
"No this sounds pricey"
"No I have a website"
"No" or any variation of no


This negativity should trigger something like this in you:


would you like to talk about this at another time?
(to establish whether its a busy time for them or not a good time to think about all this)

"no" or any variation

(also could mean its a bad time)
but try this:


Ok I understand things are tough all over
some are actually stopping what they pay for now to
get some of the things I offer just to kinda change things up
and try a new targeted approach instead of throwing money away
on useless methods of advertising...


can I sit with you for a few minutes
and share some of this for you to think about?
There"s no obligation and I am not a good salesman so no pressure..
( a nice guy or gal chuckle should be added to give this a humble feel over the phone)

Now you just shut up and let him or her talk.

If they stop talking or asks a question, just say "ok yes I can understand that, tell me a little more [about the concerns he or she is having with advertising and how much it costs or if there is another related subject to what your offering etc.].

Do this until they actually ask you something along the lines of: what can you do for me?

Now this is what its all about ...they asked you what you can do...let it all shine but not to pushy or overly
confident.Speak in the same rhythm if you will to sort of let them know your not beneath or above there level and want to help which of course you should want that if you want to grow a business relationship.


If anyone can critique this and tell why this or that should not be than please share some Warrior knowledge and survival skills.

    Honestly I am not a big fan of using these kinds of scripts.

    I have posted this recommendation a few times here on the forum to offer something for free instead. A complimentary service to them. Something that will only take you 10-20 minutes to set up but has a high perceived value. This will drop there guard and you become a valuable resource to them now. Not just another guy trying to sell them crap they dont need. I go more into detail on my free blog:

      Hey Gary Cooper, KUDOs to you for picking up the phone. I all but had to hire a hypnotist to do it the first time. You may want to consider the huge amount of FREE info dedicated totally to phone cold calling at thetelemarketingforum by John Durham. I did not join the pd forum but the free forum has more than enough direction to juice you up and get you on the phone. As focused and motivated as I can get myself I still need a bit of inspiration every now & then. just an fyi

      ps...the rockstarinlife Dude does in fact have some pretty cool stuff and advice on his site. I am not an affiliate or anything but have been there a few times.

        Hey littleangle Kudos to you for sharing that. I love that I got a kudos infact I even feel cool that I got one from you

        The truth is I am running this by you guys to see if I have what it takes to
        do it.So if this script does not seem up to par let me know.

        My next question to you littleangle would have been:
        What method of hypnotism do you use? LOL

        But I think you answered it for me in your post and I will definatly check out the forum you shared.
        I need all the help I can get.
        I will say this tho for those who are shy on the phone like me or feel nervous about it and I am pumping myself up saying this here too:

        If we want to succeed in offline business or actually wanting to succeed in anything for that matter there are three choices:

        Do it
        Do it
        Or Do it

          E X A C T Y !!! I guess I should have been more clear that it inspires me to see someone who is A. willing to even get on the phone and B. open yourself up to criticism regarding your script. Although I realize that you are just looking to get feedback re your script, I have found that when you do that you can get a lot of "tough love" here on the forum. None of which is meant to degrade you of course. Point being, you obviously already have the tough skin you need to do cold calls. If you do a search you'll find more than enough threads for really good scripts.............again..............BODACIOUS KUDOs to you!

        Thanks for the props littleangle. I had a little laugh because I was thinking if you were my affiliate I would feel sorry for you because I dont have any paid products or content there yet. lol...

        Your welcome Gary and I too struggled when I tried to do what everyone else was doing by selling. Once I switched to the "honey approach", (I like that!) It was like everyone sold themselves into my services. It was like they felt obligated to pay me and use me for something.

        I have also offered to help them with simple things like set up hootsuite for them so they can post to facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc with 1 click. I have set up a free twitter account. I have gotten them twitter followers and facebook fans or likes. I have done quite a few testing and it has worked at least 80-90% of the time.

            Thanks and it all depends on each situation. But I can say that if I was training someone to do this, I would recommend wait for them to ask you, "what else can you do?" Since you will be talking to them a little bit, to get there pics to use and what content to put in there. They will more than likely ask you for help on something else etc. Worse case scenario, you finish and they dont ask, you can ask them, "Do you need help with anything else or have any questions on marketing methods you were thinking of?"

            I only had 1 instance where they didnt buy from me "yet!". Seriously, they will!

            I sure will. I am seriously thinking I might create one this month. Just not sure which one? I will probably give the honey approach away for free though.

            Your welcome and I appreciate all the great comments and feedback. I love to give away everything and its just in my nature. That is why I had to stop ordering copies of my books because my wife kept getting mad at me for giving them away.

            My goal is to start giving away alot of my tactics that have worked for me for free on my new blog Offline RockStar Academy. I will also sell some advanced stuff and how to videos as well. But I would like to give most of the strategies away for free! That way you guys can make some money using them and buy some stuff from me in the future lol...
