New Leads. need to close.

I have hired a telemarketer from Elance and over 2 days he has gotten 9 leads. I will say one was crap but it may have been my fault. I have now directed him toward which types of businesses I want him to contact. He has had one of his telemarketers working 8 hours for 2 days. So in 8 hours, 8 decent leads is not bad....Right?

I have called one of them wanting a religious website done(he owns a business but wanted a website for his religion haha) I don't think I will get paid much for it. I called him and he asked me to email him info. I did and he hasn't emailed back.

Another is a spa wanting SEO done. Emailed but did not call yet. Got to do that.

Another is a spa needing SEO done but the guy doesn't have good english according to the telemarketer. I called yesterday but the owner wasn't there.

Another Spa which was not really a good lead but I am waiting on was an email only lead as that is the only way to reach the owner.

I know spas are not the best but you can really go after any business. I also did not choose the list for the first day but on the 2nd day asked for construction/home improvement category.

I got one construction group interested in SEO and it is "very hard to reach the owner"(email only) I sent the email and am awaiting reply.

Another is a plumbing/heating guy very interested in a website. He does 500k-1 mil in sales per year so sounds good.. I Must call him today

Another is a foundry/supply company doing 1-5 mil in sales interested in a website. I might be able to do an ecommerce solution for them. Again, need to call.

Last is an appliance service interested in a website. I am assuming not too big in sales but we'll see. I will need to call him as well.

UPDATE: 2 new leads today!

1- Pest control company needing website

2-iron works company needing website

So my question is, how should I go about closing these?

Anyone have a good closing script? Or I believe John Durham says just to introuduce yourself and be a help to them?

I am away on vacation and will need to find time to call. Perhaps next week but I also have big exams coming up for school.

I have thought about using my hourly telemarketer to get warm leads and then hiring a closer to close on a commission(or what do you suggest?)

This would be ultimate outsourcing.

It's either spend 20-30 mins per client on the phone or pay a commission based experienced sales guy to do it. I would spend the time building the sites and setting up the marketing plans.

I don't really know. I guess I will just call myself and get some more experience?

It is about $6 an hour and the leads range in quality. It is somewhat my fault though as I should target a better list and have told my telemarketer this.

I need to call and close them but most are away for easter break/spring break right now.

    Will update...

Mike, if you're paying $6 an hour it'd be best if you provided them with a specific list of people to call, or at least a category, so that their calling time isn't wasted calling the wrong people. By the way, does this worker of yours live in the US, or outside of the country?

I'd suggest closing the people yourself first. Finding people to qualify leads (such as what you're doing now with your workers) is not too hard to find, but the closing part is somewhat of an art and skill, and it may be a little more difficult to outsource that effectively.

    Mike,

You need to go look them in the eyes. No email. The sooner
the better. Warm leads go cold quickly.
