OFFLINE MARKETING

A client of mine just asked me to dial down the promotions some. They are overwhelmed with the new business I'm bringing them - so much so that they can't handle it all.

I told them I'll throttle down if they'll write a letter saying exactly that in exactly those words.

(Next I'll offer them some process optimization consulting. This is what I did before IM.)

First I did a marketing audit. I uncovered several areas for quick results, including:

Helped them define their USP, trained staff on that USP and integrated it into their existing marketing
Added a lead database and a customer database (autoresponder)
Basic on-site optimization + backlinks for local ranking
Started some social media exposure

But this list really doesn't mean a thing. The audit is the key. I talked with them. I asked lots of questions and found out what they needed.

Enough for me, but not too much for them (I don't have established rates - I charge based on the client's return).

Are you getting recurring checks?

Always.

What industry is this client in?

In a high lifetime customer value industry, which is where all my preferred clients are.

(I'm in a smallish town posting under my real name. I prefer not giving my competitors specifics.)
