OFFLINE MARKETING

Hi all,

decided to take some action and pursue two projects for my first profits.

one online, the other offline.

i am planning to sell im and seo services to small local businesses here in my town.

therefore i need to set up my business page. i already registered the domain at namecheap and am wondering which host i should choose:

hostgator vs. byethost? latter is free, but supposed to be good.

also i am planning to install wordpress.org on it and run it as a blog.
is this a good idea for an offline im'er?

reasons would be:
1. i can get to know wordpress and learn a lot.
2. it is easy to set up for a noob.

would love to receive one or two comments. THANKS warriors!

I would not trust a free hosting account. I have used Hostgator for years and have had no issues at all. They have Fantastico so installing WP is a snap. Maybe 30 seconds to do it.

I just moved a few sites to a reseller with hostgator and am very happy with it so far. Lets put it this way, hostgator is good enough for me to consider moving about 80 websites to it.

  Thanks guys! So hosting is decided. Heard only good about the gator... and will look into Fantastico.
  
  i guess i will definitely choose wordpress over a static site as well. Just to get used to it...
  
  Just have to figure out how to build it up so that it looks more like a real site and not some outdated blog with only 5 posts...
  
  As i will most probably sell such sites to my small biz offline clients soon, i have to learn that anyway.

Hostgator hands down! I wont even touch clients sites without it now. Just so much easier and faster to do everything.
