100-200+ hot local biz leads per month. Seriously. What would you do?

In the next 1-2 months, I will have 100-200+ leads
coming in from small businesses all around the
country interested in online marketing services.
(SEO, websites, backlinking, social media, etc.)

How I pulled this off is another topic for another
day - I cannot go into the 'how' right now. Sorry.

However, I'd like to ask those who have their
own successful local marketing companies the
big question - what would you do?

I currently do not have a 'public' local marketing
company - however I do take on a client from
time to time. I fully understand and know
everything that goes into marketing a local
business online. (And of course, like all of us,
always learning.)

A couple of options that I have come up with:

1. Start my own local marketing company, put
together a few packages, outsource everything.
Do what I can in the beginning dealing with
potential clients, quickly hire someone who
can sell the package(s) on the phone. Obviously
this would be a lot of work until I had the sales
team and outsourcing team in place.

2. Be the middleman - I find a top-notch SEO/
Marketing company that I can funnel all of
these leads to and earn a % of the upfront
and monthly fees. This would be pretty much
hands off for me - and of course extremely
attractive. But 'who' would be absolutely key.

3. Create a company that sells these hotter
than hot leads to local marketers. (These leads
are hotter than hot because the business owner
purchased a product that I created directly
related to marketing their business online -
and they purchased another related product to
market their business on the Internet.)

Thoughts? Other ideas?

I think it ultimately comes down to what you want to do.

You can ask others all day long but you will get 4 different answers and none of which will guide you.

Answer 1. Start your own marketing company
Answer 2. Outsource the work, followed by people requesting that you outsource the work to them
Answer 3. Sell the leads, followed by people requesting the leads
Answer 4. One like I am giving

People want things that will benefit them. So, the people that want leads will direct you to sell the leads. The people that don't want to talk to anyone will tell you to outsource the work (and ironically enough, they will offer the services). Then others will tell you to start you own marketing company.

I think all three are great and viable options. I commend you on looking at all of your options and not just jumping on the first thing you think of.

Keep me posted on what you decide to do.

I appreciate it - thank you. Right now I am leaning
towards doing the whole show on my own - outsourcing
the work obviously - and see where it goes. If it becomes
too much to handle, then I can go to one of the other
options, or hire everything out completely from A to Z.

Bottom line is not getting trapped into a 'job' - but may
need to be one in the beginning to figure everything out.

@markkro88 ... As mentioned above, it is not something
that I can get into at the moment. Let me prove this
model out first, get some proof that it works, then I
may consider letting the cat out of the bag.

@jtlucas2511 ... Oh yeah - def. will outsource all of the
work - but I have decided to take all the calls and handle
the leads myself to figure out the processes, packages to
offer, etc. then move onto the next phase.

I am interested in obtaining leads very much, could you share on your techniques to gain so many leads?

Outourcing would be your best option to monetize those leads. And yeah if you could share how you are getting so many leads, that'd be great.

    Here are my thoughts

You sell some of the leads

You work the remaining leads, You talk sales and get paid then outsource the work.

See which one benefits you the most and then go all in with that. Or split it up so you have a bit of both.

myob - I never heard of that site. Thank you.

    redcell1 - good idea.

Would be interesting to find out how much others
would be willing to pay for a lead from a small
biz owner who wants to discuss seo, local marketing,
    etc.

Based on a lot of posts in this section about all
of the struggles and time spent to generate one
    customer - I'd say quite a bit!

      @ Texas_Guns

The Lead Buyer Network has a forum, where you can discuss the going rates for leads in various niches. My system sometimes generates tons of leads which can go stale before being processed, so this is a great solution.

      • I'm really interested in the answers here and have been struggling with the same question - in a way.

I get more leads than I can handle and right now, even though I'm so busy I don't currently do much marketing. I'm trying to figure out how to restructure things so I don't get so busy doing the hands on, so I can spend more time marketing and selling as that's my strength.

I only Google Places right now for one niche personally. All the other leads I get, I refer out.

I've been building up a referral network of people I trust to refer business too. I don't want to outsource the work per se because I don't really trust outsourcers to do a good job and don't want to have to manage them.

The main company I refer out to right now is an SEO company I did Advanced Google Places training for. So I know HE knows all my tricks and optimizes the way I would and has the same values and ethics. But I'm starting to max him out because I get so many leads I can't handle.

I'm a sales machine if I could get out of doing all the busy work and restructure my time, I would love to just market, sell, close and refer the hands on optimization work out for a finders fee.

Have ideas about setting up a type of lead network for Google Places pros, but have not quite decided the best way to pull it off yet.

So Texas_Guns I'm interested in what you come up with or let me know if you ever want to brainstorm some options.

Dying to know how you generate all those leads. One thing I've discovered with Google Places leads specifically is, you need to pass the leads and have someone follow up quickly or they will find someone else to do their Place page and/or SEO.

What I do for generating tons of leads is just write articles about the technology for local newspapers, trade journals, and Chambers of Commerce newsletters. I can't get to all of them, so I work the large businesses and sell the small business leads and one-man shows to Lead Buyer Network.
