Be An Internet Marketer! - "No Common Sense Required"!

Recently I asked my Friend to come look over the export board at my forum and see if he could answer some questions... This is a friend who has made HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in exports. He is as fine an expert as God has provided on this earth. The VERY finest.

Anyway, David asked me what the common denominator was in the export section...

I said "this report" and I gave him my report and he read it and said it was good and that he would go through the export section...

Then he made a couple of posts and came back to me and said... John I could barely find a question on your export forum that you hadnt already answered in the book... but I was shocked to see people asking... it was pretty clear.

David further went on to say
to myself AND a couple of our export students that there really wasnt anything more to it than what I described in the report...

Still thats hard to believe for many that really doing a MAJOR international deal is 90% just about cold calling, and emailing and not any major expertise...

What he saw in the export board, were people trying create more complicated answers for simple questions, and just NOT buying that the answers could be that simple.

Well folks

If you couldnt take it from me, take from a man who has made 100's of millions in exports... I know everyone is looking for a more complicated answer... Just get on the phone!

"But I dont speak well"!

What are you gonna do about it? Get on the phone and work it out till your pitch shines like a new dime! You want me to wave a magic wand? You have to DIAL AND PRACTICE... Do we think that because we are on the internet "NO COMMON SENSE IS REQUIRED"?

Work it out...

People are all about "technical knowledge"... There are a million out of work guys with a marketing degree and all the technical knowledge in the world who are looking for "J-O-B-S"

Isnt that funny a "marketer" looking for a '"Job"... there's a reason... because 90% of success is turning all the intellectualizing and "idea generating" into just "DOING" it.

So, a few years ago When David asked me to empty his warehouse, I went to Louisville and I sat down at a desk and what did I do...?

I sat there alone, and made the calls until the warehouse was sold... I didnt know what I was doing... all I knew is that if you want to get something done you HAVE To START TALKING TO PEOPLE...I didnt know how to sell international closeouts...

I got on the phone and started talking to people and figured it out step by step from there... I said "Hi this is what I have, and Im not sure what to do with it, but I see you all buy this stuff..."?

Oh really , you have closeouts too? What do you do with them? Who buys them? Where do I turn?

Oh you are gonna give me a liquidators number? Thanks

"Hi Mr. Liquidator...I have an issue, I was wondering if you could help me..."

Then the liquidator teaches me some things and so on... YOU SEE HOW THIS HAPPENS?

NEXT THING YOU KNOW PEOPLE ARE SAYING "John HAS THE SECRET TO INTERNATIONAL SALES... He's a Genius"!!!!!

Big secret. I just gave it to you!

PEOPLE!!!!! You got to get your eyes on the goal! Keep walking looking straight forward, asking questions... BUT STAY IN ACTION!!!!!!

THERE IS NOTHING you cant figure out, but smell the roses while you are RUNNING, dont stop to smell them!

I learned more in 30 days of action and talking to people and asking questions more than I did in10 years of dreaming about trying exports someday... and now hundreds of people buy my report and want to know what I figured out at that phone and desk.

Coming from the point of ZERO idea what to do...I made more MONEY in the following 2 weeks than I had ever made on a sale in my life!

It isnt hard to put two plus two together if you will get in ACTION.

Ill take an ignorant person who will work over a brilliant web marketer who's knowledge is worthless without action ANY DAY!

Guys Making a 50,000 commission check is pretty glamorous
, but the whole way there of bearing down on the phone and email... Thats just down and dirty BEING IN THE TRENCHES, nothing glamorous about it...

International exports is basically putting a big buyer with a big seller... So why am I putting this in the offline marketing section? Because it fits.

Quit telling yourself what a pretty businessman you are... Get away from the virtual Mirror" , and get your head down for a few hours straight ACTING instead of thinking...

BA-LAMMMO! Woop there it is!

Ps. If you gathered that this post is about EXPORTS.... then maybe you should apply for the job in the TITLE! lol

Its about Principles!

John, this reminds me when you first made the post about Alibaba and then mine about it.

The plan was all laid out and the mindset needed for it was too.

I couldn't believe people still wanted training in it via a WSO.

It was as if they where children needing assurance and hand holding.

Sometimes I think some people are not made to be entrepreneurs and business owners.

Kudos to you for helping and encouraging these people.

    Best,

Interesting thoughts Ewen, if you dont mind my expounding:

A: Yes I get the same feeling from this post as the first Alibaba one.

B: Part of being seasoned is knowing that even though you gave everyone all the knowledge they need right in the THREAD - They still buy the WSO - Thats a good lesson for all of us which Paul Myers could write and has written books about.

C: I wonder too if some people arent made to be entrepreneurs... but the little '"projects" (Ghetto) kid in me that "could"... Keeps wanting to say that "ANYONE CAN MAKE THEMSELVES ANYTHING THEY WANT"!

Much Love Ewen, 10 years from now me and you are gonna go "way back"!

Some people may not be made to be business owners, but I too believe everyone CAN be, but you have to *renew your mind.* A lot of people (I was one) are afraid to be successful whether they will admit that or not. I used to have an answer/business model sitting in front of me for free, but then opt to purchase a wso telling me to do the same thing and then not take action on it, I guess to say it doesn't work...to have someone else to blame?? I was stuck just reading (and getting excited) about the possiblities of make $30,000 in 30 days like a lot of wso's claim and not actually taking action. By taking action, you can pretty much make anything work, you have to stay focused on that one thing until it works, instead of working it for 3 days and moving on when you don't see instant results

Two of my favorite posters, nailing it, as usual!

Couldn't agree more with both of you....people will not leave good alone. What's that expression, "the Perfect is the enemy of the Good"....its as if many will not accept the simple truths and are conditioned to believe everything must be complex to be worthwhile.

As to some people not made to be entreprenuers, Ewen, I think MOST are not equipped to be 'independent', period, so being an INDEPENDENT business owner is out of the question as well.

The reason there's so much opportunity, is because there's so little REAL competition. ...as Dan Kennedy has said, most people are barely trying.

I guess I was equipped to be independent due to growing up on a farm, biking several miles to school and working on farms to finally being a livestock manager.

You gotta work against the weather, sheep and cattle and the dogs that round them up.

Then you have the Government workers who can't see past the rule book which makes no sense in certain circumstances. Heaven forbid you cross the line.

Safe and secure keeps their sanity.

Independents would go crazy under those shackles.

      Great subject.

It's true independence is required - but that's not all it is.

If you get a "job" - you have to learn to do the job. You may have training manuals and bosses to explain things - but you are expected to learn the job and do it.

It's the same with any online task. You have to put your hands on it before you master it. It's something we see constantly here - tell me, show me, write it out for me, sell instructions to me.

The scary part about doing something new and unknown to you - is that it's new and unknown. Do it - do it again - do it better - do it more - and it's not unknown any more.

Good advice for anyone who wants to stay out of the paralysis of analysis danger zone! Most people use the excuse of talking about it -- rather than being about it.

When they face obstacles, setbacks or challenges they want to stop to analyze, theorize and compromise.

You made a good point. Whatever you feel like doing, stay in action, keep mobile, smell the roses while you're running! Da truth speaks!

Not everyone is cut out to be a business owner. It takes the ability to think independently, which many just don't have. That's fine, as they probably follow directions better than I do and it takes all types to make the world go around. I have a brother that had zero common sense and that needed to be told exactly how to do everything. He couldn't make it from point A to point B by himself. However, he was very intelligent otherwise and did well in school, as long as independent thought wasn't required.

We all have different roles in life, and have to get in where we fit in. I too was raised in the "ghetto" of sorts, and pulled myself up out of it and made something of myself. However, it took hard work and a lot of independent thought to find ways to a better place. No system or WSO can teach that.

I agree with your statement John.

It seems when people go online all common sense just flys out the door.

I also think people want it all done for them so rather than read the material or watch the video they want to ask the questions.

In most cases the beginning statement is I have followed your info to the letter and it still doesn't work.

You have a look at what they did and obviously never read or watched the material.

But hey thats life and been guilty of it myself.

    John,

You have a way with words... you cut thru all the hype and get straight to the point...

Your ideas are expressed un-ambiguously and the clarity of your thought and the power of you actions reflect in your posts...Anyone who has read your posts can tell that you are a phone warrior.....

    Nice value add thread.....

I enjoy reading your posts..... for some reason... i keep missing the opening bell of your WSO's.

I will keep my eyes peeled and ears open for your next WSO.

    Thx

John there isn't one thread of yours that I haven't read that doesn't add fuel to my fire. To me your like the zig ziglar of marketing so motivational. Everyone has it in them to take action and hunt down their dreams.

What some don't have is that UMPH factor to just push yourself. If you don't have someone holding your hand along the way you don't want to leave the sand for the water.

I remember when I first started on here I was like that. After seeing so many people on here just like me who were fresh in the game taking action and walking out with 4 and 5 figure checks I knew it was real.

Thats when I discovered I had it in me I just had to channel it. John keep doing what your doing every time I start to plateau you post one of these remarkable threads and i am ready set go again.

    THANKS UNCLE JOHN!!!!

They say that 70% of America is obese. Since I can't believe that they all have genetic problems it tells me that more than 50% of Americans are just plain LAZY!!

So when it comes to action, most are passive or even lulled to sleep by procrastination and or fear. LAZINESS!!

WSOs sell so well even though the information is right there, because people are too LAZY to find the information on their own. It's too much work. They want it all nicely packaged up and ready to go with a step by step instruction guide on what to do.

They view the package and go to bed that night dreaming of all the millions they are going to make. The next day comes and they say tomorrow they will start. Tomorrow never comes.

Maybe I'll do a WSO on MAKE MONEY NOW!! STOP BEING SO LAZY!!

Great Pearls of Wisdom John. Loved it!

Rich Schefren gives a great insight why people cling on to the security found in plans, blueprints, new and easy opportunities when they are really illusions.

Recognizing the problem is one thing, you need to come up with a workable solution too.

And thats what he's done in this quick video.

      Enjoy!

The solution is the same thing the solution was when you were learning to walk... nobody needed to explain it to you... you saw others doing it, and you wanted to do it so bad, and you watched them intently and learned their movements, and little by little you gain control of your body until you taught it to stand... making one distinction after another...

If people would do that, they wouldnt have to buy reports. thats how I learned everything I know and now people want to pay me to teach them, what they could learn by themselves just like I did. the funny thing is that even though its handed to them, only a percentage succeed.

That will always be the case... and success will always be VICTORY over failure, victory connotates that something has been conquered.

John always makes me laugh with his post but this is so true if you listen to what he is saying...

Sometimes when cold calling I'll say to myself "why don't I just get a job" then I remember John's words "People who own businesses are successful because they do things everyone else doesn't want to do"
