How valueable is Facebook group for your business?

Even if your organization is not really related to social media at all, do you think it's worth investing creating a Facebook group? Does it effect in SEO at all?

    Facebook friends groups and pages are really helpful to promote any type of business .Mine think we can promote our business using friends groups .

    My quick 2 cents is that I wouldn't look at it from the stance of 'your organization isn't related to social media'.

    Instead, I'd ask myself if my organization wishes to engage their customers and have an ongoing relationship that both parties can learn & grow from.

      At the end of the day it all depends on your clients age, gender etc. Maybe your client base is in their 60's and they don't use Facebook. It doesnt help your SEO for your website but can drive traffic to your site via referrals. The Facebook page might rank quiet well too if you have the right heading and its a non competitive keyword/phrase.

    Facebook needs to be used properly, it has become a spam tool... people think they're "branding" but they're more annoying than anything else. here's a good post on the subject that I read recently:

    Yes. Facebook group is a way for people with common interests to gather and share/socialize. It is like an inner circle kinda of community - the topic of interest can be varied and it does not have to do with business at all.

    In fact facebook groups are not for business use. The place for conducting business (or to promote) is to use Facebook pages.
