I read or heard about an idea once where you can write informative articles to submit to local business publications to help build your credibility and get leads.

Anyone know any details on this?

How do I find local business publications to send my article to?

    Basically what you do is to write an article 90% content 10% sales pitch, you need to contact the editors of the magazines and send them your article or have the list of the editors of the magazines you are interested in advertise and send your article as a Press release

      How do I find the publications to contact though? I admit I don't read any 'local' business publications so don't know where to start to find them...

        You usually have to had their contact info, I have seen several gigs on Fiver selling the contact information of big editors, if you are going for a small publication that may be easier or with more personal contact.

          How do I find local business publications to send my article to?
          A three-minute way to do this is to call the reference desk of your local public library and ask them. They often carry such publications in their periodical room. If not, they know how to look it up for you.

          If your locality is not listed, you can also try looking up in Google:

    that is easy. but if some of your friend is editor , it will be more easy for u to public your articles on the newspaper.

    Start with small newsletters and magazines first. After you had some success, you can pitch the bigger ones and by sending your previous published pieces will help you get to the big stage.

      A couple of resources I use rather extensively is newspapers.com. The smaller, regional newspapers are most receptive to feature articles. Also an excellent resource for magazines is Writers' Market, available at Amazon.com or most major bookstores.

    You could write an advertorial and submit to major publications such as newspapers. If you're not fond of this idea, you could run an endorsement ad with one of your clients pitching your services for you. Both of these can help to boost your credibility.
