Very simple and to the point. I like it, and it's probably a very good way to get your foot in the door with many businesses. It's non-threatening, and it will give them what they want...more business.

Good you can see the funny side.

Hey, why I came up with the original spiel was because
it was directed at someone who knows about the subject and is ready to buy.

That was the same type of pitch from a guy known as the greatest salesperson in the world.

When he appeared on the Johnny Carson Show, he was asked to "sell me this ashtray".

The Greatest Salesman In The World picked up the ashtray and said,
"if you were to buy this silver ashtray, how much would you expect to pay?".

Johnny Carson named a price and The Greatest Salesman In The World said "SOLD!".

It seems that at every turn that someone wants to sell us something. But, in this case, there isn't one. I'm not here to sell you anything, nor will I ever be.

You see, Mr./Ms./Mrs. Business Owner, I don't make any money from helping you get your QR codes set-up. But, that's okay. It doesn't take up too much of my time, and I'm hoping that you'll remember me for it when you have other marketing needs.

I'm a marketing consultant (or whatever you call yourself), and helping business owners get the most return from their marketing efforts is what I do. I'm here to learn about you and your business, and offer my help if I can. I'm sure you know how important it is to build relationships with your customers. That is my goal. I'm not after your money...I'd rather build a lasting business relationship with you where we both can profit.

Think about something for a second.

When you sell [insert product or service here] to your customers, you want them to be pleased with it, right? You want every customer to be a happy customer so they'll want to do business again with you, right? Well, Mr./Ms./Mrs. Business Owner, it's the same way with me. But, again, I'm not going to try and sell you on anything. I just want to show you how QR codes can help you get more customers.

We'll explore the ways that QR codes can be beneficial to your particular business, and I'll answer any questions you have along the way. I'll also ask you for a 'Yes' or 'No' about each use of QR codes to know which ones you'd like to implement. And if at anytime you feel this isn't right for you, just say NO."

The question is not how much they cost you or how much they are worth to you. The real question is how much are they worth to your clients?

"The only cost is my time. And if it means that I stand the chance to gain a friend in business who might also become a client in the future, then it's worth the cost to me. Even if you never retain me for any of my other services, it's still to my benefit because I can use you as a reference for other prospects...that is if you don't mind.

Now, before we begin, let me ask you a couple of questions. What's your usual customer acquisition cost? And also, what is the lifetime value of your average customer?"

      That's a powerful reply.

I like it very much. I speak with some folks who think that just because they don't have a smartphone, well then obviously none of their clients have one either.......Here I am, talking to the pub or restaurant owner, and I pull out my Blackberry..........

"What if I could show you a very simple method to get more clients through the door of your business, would this be something you might be interested in?" (My first question)

Obviously this will raise curiosity. And there's only one logical answer to the question. Yes!

And so I might now get my foot in the door so to speak and share with you why they could be so beneficial to your business.

What is there to pitch on? They're free.

Just as a barcode scanner in the supermarket scans the barcode on every product at the checkout till, so a smartphone can scan the 2D QR Quick Response code wherever it's displayed.

You scan it and automatically the mobile website the code is aligned to will show up on your mobile phone screen.

This might be your regular website in miniature or your Facebook page, your twitter page, the choice is entirely yours.

The QR code can be used in lots of ingenious ways to get your target audience to see what you're all about. It's just another tool to add to your sales funnel. And better still, you can communicate a lot easier with a hot lead than you can with a stone cold one. That someone has taken the personal action and initiative to find out about you and your business makes it a lot easier for you to close the deal with this individual. QR codes make purchasing decisions more personal.

Let's say that you've got a restaurant. Most cities have a great deal of stiff competition in this very competitive niche. They're all vying for the same customers.

So you print off some sticky labels and you find out in advance where your potential customers are arriving in the city center to enjoy an evening meal out at a restaurant.

And you display / whack up these sticky labels containing your QR code right on eye level where the majority of people, your ideal prospects are going to see them.

You get a little creative with the design too of your QR code. And maybe insert the word: EAT or FOOD or HUNGRY? in the center of your QR code. This is obviously just one example. I'm just thinking off the top of my head here. There's thousands of ways you can use this, you're limited only by your imagination.

So a couple jump off the bus or get out of the taxi in the city center some place and staring them straight in the face at eye level is your QR code sticker.

In a split second the couple takes a snapshot of the image with their smartphone. Instantly they're taken to your website. Whoah! It just happens to be exactly what they're looking for...

A quiet peaceful and relaxing environment on the waterfront overlooking the harbor. A romantic setting indeed and a gorgeous place to watch the sunset whilst eating their meal enjoying one another's company. And to boot, tonight they're offering a 2 for 1 meal offer on all fish dishes.

So they wander off in your direction, following the map / directions on their smartphone.

That sticker cost you less than 1 cent.

Their total spend was $150 that night. Your profit / ROI was enormous and all for taking a little initiative.

Multiply that couple by the number of covers / tables in your restaurant, by the number of nights per year you run a special offer and the potential profit return on your tiny outlay and time investment could add up to many tens of thousands of dollars over the course of the year.

        Simple!

"Now, are you interested in finding out more?"

        Best,

        Pete Walker

Let's stop beating around the bush on this...

    Here is the deal...

QR Codes are one of those tools that few people know how to utilize effectively, but they have great potential to help you build a solid, long-term relationship with your customers.

The first thing you should understand is that QR Codes do require an Internet-ready phone to be useful. SMS-messaging has a 97% market penetration, but Internet-ready phones are only available with about 35% of the cell phones in the marketplace.

What this means is that we can only utilize QR Codes with about 1-in-3 consumers in the local marketplace. The good news here is that the market for QR Codes is growing, and we are out in front of the competition on this one.

QR Codes are basically a custom-image like a Bar Code that retailers use on all of their products.

Just like Bar Codes, QR Codes can be customized to contain a lot of specific information.

Whereas Bar Codes are used to define a product and price, QR Codes can be designed to define a coupon and customer-tracking data.

When you send one to a customer, you can scan the QR Code at your Point-of-Sale, and send the customized data to your marketing database.

Your POS-scanner can capture the information from the QR Code and send it directly into your marketing database, which in turn can give you insight on which coupons are creating the desired action, but more importantly, which customers are taking the desired action and what moved them to take action.

The fact that you can connect certain coupons to certain customers allows you to develop behavioral tracking analysis that you can utilize to better target future promotions to your customers.

Your goal is always to get your customers to spend more money with you, and through behavioral tracking, you will have the capability of knowing how to better customize your future promotions to drive even more sales.

QR Codes are powerful, but few companies are utilizing the behavioral tracking abilities that it offers.

Behavioral tracking is an awesome tool, because it allows you to better understand a larger segment of your marketplace. If you find certain patterns repeating themselves among those who take advantage of QR Codes, you can roll out larger marketing campaigns that will help you to reach those who have Internet-ready cell phones and those who do not.

Patterns in behavior will help you customize your marketing campaigns to reach those customers you are not reaching now, and that is the real power of behavioral tracking in the marketplace.

The goal is to understand the buying habits of individuals, so that you can better understand the buying habits of groups of people, and QR Codes is the most powerful tool you can use towards this end.

    Think of it like this:

You can make your customers MANUALLY type in your website address into their phones, email, or call you...

or this magic barcode can do it for them!

Which is easier to get your customers to use?

Which is cooler and more mysterious?

So... you can either put "call us at 555-5555" on your marketing materials.... or you can put this QR Code..

    I think it's obvious...

Restaurant - Prior to going in I have a QR code setup on a piece of paper with my Business name and phone number.

I have something I want to show you that has the potential to scatter your business like a virus all over your town.

Do you have your cellphone handy? Have you seen these?
Then have the client scan the code and see it take him to his menu.

Alright I gotta run to another appointment I just wanted to show you that..

Leave... Call him in 2 days and talk to him about it. If he hasn't already called you by now. He will have showed it to everyone he comes in contact with. You setup the appointment to come in and explain what you can do with that to really help his business go viral using facebook, 4 square, twitter , website or whatever...
