Potential Partner for SEO Offline Marketers
Their services include PPC and social media, however they do not offer SEO or web design. One of their sales representatives had called on one of my clients and he referred her to me for evaluation.
They are permitted to work with outside vendors, however they cannot take a finders fee for referrals. Also, the company just started an affiliate program, so you will receive a commission if you resell their services. Each sales rep can work independently with outside vendors and their is no formal vendor approval process.
Since we began working together, I have referred her to two of my clients and she has provided us with three new SEO clients. We even go on sales calls together. It is like having a full time sales person working for us free of charge. However, we reciprocate and do not take advantage of the situation.
The company is ReachLocal.com.
They are looking to partner with web designers, SEO consultants and any other complimentary services.
Some tips:
1. Meet with the sales rep in person to build a relationship
2. Provide a summary of your services and price list
3. Provide business cards to be passed around their local office
4. Agree to go on sales calls together
5. Promote their services to your clients as well
6. Keep in touch regularly
In addition to working together, she also referred me to another RL sales rep who needed an SEO resource for a client. What I found is that they try to deliver for their clients even if they do not offer the service. They want to work with partners who can deliver.
Its not often that a major company is so easy to work with and this relationship has not only grown our business, it has also helped us to offer services that we otherwise would not be able to.
Hope this can work for you as well!
Thanks,
Vito
