Recent Winning Combination Offline

The past few weeks, I have been hitting home runs and wanted to share how I am succeeding.

I have been building exact match local domain names (using .co and ranking well when com, net and org are taken).

I scrape articles from article directories for ideas, and completely rewrite them. I post them to the blog using the keywords (example cityname keyword) I am targeting in the title.
  • Keyword in H1, H2 tags.
  • Upload 1 image, named with keyword, also KW in description and alt tag.
  • KW combination in first sentence and last sentence.
  • Bold, UL, Italics and link to home page KW (so 4 instances special total).
  • Articles are between 450-600 words.

I am using the Heatmap Adsense Pro Theme (bought WSO here)

I then social bookmark each page using Onlywire free version.
I ping each new post using the free version of Pingler.com

That is pretty much it. In the past 3 weeks I have created 3 sites that are: citynamekeyword.co in a city with over 500,000 people in reasonably competitive local niches. Things like realtors, mortgage and used autos.

During that time, all 3 have 1st page Google rankings for my main keyword and other keywords in the top 30 results. All without backlinking yet (except for onlywire).

My best one, in less than a week, was 1st position Yahoo/Bing, 3rd position for Google. This one also has 3 other keywords on first page of Google. This site has had over 250 unique visitors in the first week and I have already rented this out to a client for $500 / mo.

The first time I thought it might be a fluke, but now 3 in a row and I am pumped. I will start doing some backlinking and posting more articles and see where it gets me.

Hopefully this is not going to get danced by G, but so far I have one 3 weeks old that once it hit the first page, it has stuck.

Will update on my progress, but just wanted to offer a free share on an easy (and somewhat simple) process that has been working for me.

My next step is going to be using my WP Twin, and clone a site that is citynamekeyword.co and make it cityname2keyword.co and just rewrite the articles, changing the keyword obviously to match the new city and see how that goes.

    That's great! Congrats! That's a method we first started out trying - and it worked excellent!

    What you can do it is call people up and tell them you work "performance" based. Meaning, they don't have to pay until you get the website onto page 1 for the keyword match. And then say "once it's there, you only pay $199/mo." You'll get people signing up left and right... super easy.

      I actually used my network of friends (this was local to me). I had never met the customer before this, but was referred by a friend that I let know that I had the site available.

      If that did not work, the plan was to email dozens of local companies to offer the page.

      Of course part of the goal after getting a site ranked is to sell other services as well, including fanpages, video, article marketing, autoresponder setups et al.

      Just getting my offline business going and like the results so far.

      10 more and I can quit my day job.

      Great job! here is an idea to bring some more money. You could go to other businesses and let them know what you have done - show them screenshots etc. tell them you will do it for them also. Offer them 6 months at a discount since you haven't put the site up or gotten it ranked - the discount is because the site hasn't proven itself yet. If they say no - I will wait and see how the site does just say fine but once it is up there in the rankings the price goes up. You could start getting pre-paid and get the heck out of your day job faster - day jobs suck!!!!

        Great ideas rugman. I am planning to build a good portfolio and then be able to pre-sell sites before building. I just cloned my best site, rewrote the articles with the new keywords and had it up in half an hour.

        Heck I may dig around for offline niches that have decent Adsense payments or potential CPA offers. If I cannot lease them, I have an hour and $7 per year in domain registration fees. Might just crank them out and then not have to worry about servicing clients.

        All speculation of course.
