How Im going to get 30 new clients in the next 30 days

Might as well put myself out there. After not taking action for so long tomorrow will start my 1st REAL effort to acquire customers.

We are offering a local small biz marketing plan that combines multiple media channels like tv,radio, online magazine, facebook, Twitter and more. To my knowledge no one in the world is doing anything quite like it,so I really have no blueprint to work with.

This is more about how Ive decided to approach this.
1. Front end 100% cold calls via telephone to certain targeted businesses who already use facebook. Set the appointment
2. Send info for them to look over, credibility stuff, we have created lots of media over 2 years online locally, kind of like building while still trying to figure out the direction of the company. Self taught to do blogs, video ,graphics, fanpages, etc.

3. Go in and show plan, ask them how much they want to pay, collect check and then help them out.

This is oversimplified and if anyone cares I can share more. I mainly just wanted to have some where public to help hold myself accountable.

Eddie

The MOST important thing I see here you already accomlished is setting yourself a goal. As long as you give it your all to to that number, shoot, 20 customers would be more than awesome!! GOODLUCK!

    Hi Eddie,

I wish all the success to you. I hope you can get 30 or even more clients this month.

I want to say one thing though. Is this the first time you will get offline clients? (If not, please ignore the following.) If this is the case, then, 30 clients in 30 days doesn't seem a realistic goal to me. I mean if you haven't got any offline clients up to now, getting 30 in 30 days will be close to impossible even though you offer the best service in the town. For example a realistic goal could start with 1 client this week, and then once you get that one, you can improve your goals.

    Good luck,

It sounds like an awesome list of services. Is this your company or a company you are selling services for? Seems like a lot to offer as an individual, but since you say "we", I am assuming you have a team.

Best of luck! I am one of those people who hates cold calling...mostly because I did it so much in the past. How are you targeting the people from Facebook?

30 new clients in 30 days sounds like a nightmare. Do you know how hard it is to handle 1 new client? I have less than 30 clients and I've been doing this for 8 years, lol. I make six figures a year and lead the lifestyle I choose.

If you honestly got 30 clients in 30 days you would be seriously depressed. They won't be your ideal client, much turnover, implementing tactics will be near impossible, etc...

Am I getting through to you?

Having a goal is great, but High Horsepower is right. You want quality instead of quantity in clients. A few bad clients will eat away all your time and make your life miserable and they will want a discount on top of it.

Yes, but for this project I have determined that I must contact them first by telephone and mainly use the internet as a resource for credibility purposes.

Well the thing is Im offering a very specific packaging of a wide variety of media. I already have the system and people in place to make work, I just need businesses to plug into it. So Its more like selling a LIVE WSO to 30 different businesses.

Yes I am the orchestrator but the entire network is the team so to speak. I have a group of outsourcers that I have a great relationship with who will help with the graphics, video, and online mag creation. I have also developed a very responsive Facebook fan base, they play a major role in helping distribute messages about these local businesses we sign up.
I have to do the coordinating with media buys, our radio show and the facebook ads aspect of our package.

I hear you, just keep in mind that I am only offering a very specific package to them at this time. During a test run over the holidays I signed up almost 20 people in a very short amount of time, granted at a lower fee and mostly for pure advertising rather than a full marketing package. There was no continuity or anything at the time, just wanted to see how this aspect of the program would work.

True, I do expect a certain percentage to not want to follow instructions to make this work, that is one of the reasons I have to call personally to get a good feel for them before I even make an appointment.

If there remains continued interest in this thread I will post links and stuff so you all can understand what we are doing, its quite amazing.
You can either get inspired or watch a train wreck

The biggest problem that I ran into in early presentations is that these people just didnt understand how we could offer them so much for so little. It kind of scared people who are used to getting screwed by local newspapers, RAGazines , and such and when I was showing them this incredible plan they just couldnt believe it, so I had to modify how the info is being presented. I promise you there is no local agency that would/could offer anything like this at 5x the price.

That is why I am going with the pay what you think its worth model so I can focus on the help we are giving them rather than the COST.

Just think what most small biz owners who pay out the yingyang for graphics, video, writing and stuff from local providers would think it they spent time in this forum or on places like odesk. They would swear the whole thing is a scam!

  • Wish you the best of luck but getting 30 clients by cold calling is going to be a major challenge.

If you even get half that it would be awesome... and you would make a fortune selling your method as a WSO lol!

    Look forward to your updates.

    Best wishes

I don't think it would be awesome... I would be turning people away at that point, or raising my prices drastically. 30 clients in 30 days is not likely, even with cold calling, you're looking at 3,000 calls minimum, but then you have to meet with clients, give presentation. If it is JUST you, then it isn't a good idea to even try.

2-3 new clients a week is a great increase for those in offline marketing. I believe you could do this, and I believe ANY warrior here can get 30 clients in 30 days if they made enough calls, but then you need to be honest with yourself if you can handle it or not. If I had 30 clients at once, I wouldn't have enough time to get anywhere because I would be on the phone with all of them, non stop.

If the cold calling attempt doesn't work, you could also use direct mail letters or postcards to seek out new clients. Ever considered generating a lead and using it?

That was my first thought too, but upon reflection and reading OP's major objection that clients can't believe the low price - then that separates what he's doing from thousands of advertising agencies which would charge 1000's for 1/2 of what he's offering.

To Eddie - it's awesome that you've set such a goal. So many people never cold call - because the rejection is so hard to take - but digging into the process for 30 days - even if it's not perfect - will be an education that's worth more than anything you can buy in a book or WSO.

Like I heard today at a seminar:

"Education without action is just entertainment."

Eddie - keep up the action - the rest will take care of itself.

Yes ad/marketing agencies can do those things but no one to my knowledge does it the way we are going to do. The agencies that can do all these different things will want WAY TOO much for these little guys to afford. Its more about how we are combining the elements and leveraging the power of the GROUP and social media, that is why the number 30 is important. Will post more on how this works tonite since there is interest.
This is the biggest marketing challenge of my life and again I appreciate all the comments.Time to hit the phones!

Well its been about 30 days and way short of goal. I only signed up 8 clients in that time. Here are my "excuses". The Memorial day Holiday just slowed things down, Im getting old and as motivated as my mind was I was just flat out tired of running out in the heat and going from appt to appt. Got to get in better shape for sure.

Lost about a week because of some other unfinished business I needed to take care of. The truth is that could have waited BUT I was so exhausted and since this was stuff I could do W/o leaving house I took that route.

I had to rework my appt setting script to make it clear that I would be asking for a decision at the end. I let a few people give me the "I need to think about it routine". That was my fault for not being stronger and still trying to work out the pitch. Lost a lot of time making call backs and followups.

I am giving myself till the end of July to get to 30. I can actually start the promotions with 10 so once I put those people on next week that will help create a little more momentum and make the following 20 easier to get.

    Thats all for now,

Congratulations Eddie, 8 clients in 30 days is a good number. Try to get the most out of them before finding new clients. You can make much more with a few high quality clients than a lot of low quality clients.

      Eddie,

Don't sell yourself short, 8 signups is a great accomplishment. Without knowing exactly what you are doing and as you say you seem to have a system in place and you just need clients to plug into it, but you have proven you can get the clients. Now just scale things up, I would think that with some momentum you have now you could easily reach your goal of 30 within July.

Sounds like you've got a great plan Eddie. Assuming you have hired out the telemarketing. You may want to send out a post card with a free offer giving a little content about what to do if a business wants to put into place a marketing strategy like you are offering.

The free ebook or physical book could be a little more content wrapped up in your credibility content. Of course the purpose of the book is to educate business owners on "what to do" not "how to do it".

Now they are educated on the real value you bring to the table. Your telemarketer follows up and sets the appointment and you go in with a quick presentation and close for the deposit and get started.

BTW - 30 clients isn't a stretch if you aren't the only one doing the work.
