So We Got Leads, But do We have Phone Skills?

Obviously, I am new to the Forum BUT not new to marketing, My question is, We have so many tools to generate leads, BUT what happens when you have to call them, you know to close a sale?

Any Warriors out there use Telemarketing to sale Services or Products once you get the leads AND how is it going for you?

    I would recommend that you check out The Telemarketing Forum run by fellow warrior John Durham.

    There is a ton of great information there on how to improve your phone skills, both outgoing and incoming.

    Great question...and it's power is often overlooked.

    You can double your sales, without any more leads coming in,
    by working on this area alone.

      I am wondering if More Warriors feel the sames as you and I, or do they just leave it to their online efforts for conversion ?

      I have found with higher end and higher price point services and coaching sales almost requires a phone call...

      AND A VERY GOOD TELEMARKETER...

        Yes, marketers are leaving a lot of money on the table
        by not using the phone.

        Example: A law firm was converting website vistors to sale at 4%.

        Most internet marketers will leave it at that because it is above average.

        The law firm was frustrated because it coudn't budge it higher.

        Since they allready had adept telephone sales people, they then
        made every attempt to get the website visitors to phone in.

        That's when sales leapt to 40% conversion.

        The improvement process is called Kaizan by the Japenese.

        It was introduced to them after World War 2 by a man named Juran.

        He showed the manufacturiers that a complicated process
        can be broken down to many parts and have each of those parts improved upon.

        Small improvements over many parts of a process results in compounding the gains.

        Taking the sales process into many parts, like manufacturing,
        also leads to massive gains from small improvements over the whole.

          As a marketing Consultant do any warriors offer Telemarketing included with their Online Marketing Services or just the Online SEO, SEM, SMO.....EMAIL, CRO?

            Wasn't what I was talking about.

            I was talking about an existing business squeezing more profits
            out of the same money and efforts.

            Not chasing after new add-on services.

    We doubled an internet marketer's online efforts in one day this week. I've seen internet marketing companies that make 3 million/year online and 5 million/year by phone. My (biased) opinion is that selling leads generated online by phone has massive value.

    When it comes to doing it, you need to hire someone who already knows it. You will probably not find the success you need to sell things by phone by trial and error. I do think that someone could become reasonably good that way, but the call center environment teaches you tactics and perspectives that you never would have dreamed of on your own.

    I could give you statistics and figures on my call center, but I don't want to pitch all over your thread. All I would say is that a call center is needed if you want to get the most out of your prospects.

      dmramirez - feel free to throw down.. I feel it we as Warriors can't share then what are we here for... ?

      thanks for the insight and Yeah, if you can't teach it, or learn int and apply it professionally HIRE IT OUT!

      I do feel that with the right environment you can create a great PhoneJockey team to grind your leads...

      I am sure it would take a good system, scripting, product knowledge and knowing your audience?

    There are 'lots of tools' all of which so far have generated little to any interest for me. Good old fashioned marketing is the only way that works in my opinion. Bangin the phone and shaking some hands. It sucks, but is what works for me. I heard it all on here and the WSO to aquire clients have all been nothing short of hype so far.
