A Shot in the dark for offline business.

*Full Disclaimer* This is a topic in hopes to help some of those who seek it. Im not pretending to be the end all be all source. I have been in the offline consulting area for 7 years now and have much to offer. This is to help figure out what we all need. Thank you.*

Ok, ladies and gents. I have seen quite a few topics on how to get started in the offline marketing industry and have decided to write a comprehensive, step by step guide to show others that are still struggling a few ways to go about doing so. So, for you new ones, what kinds of road blocks are you hitting? is it client acquisition? Is it what services to offer? I have been working on my offline guide for a few months now, only after years of hard work and trials and errors. What are you having issues with? For those of you that are currently in the offline game, and doing ok, what are some things you would like to see explained better? What are some things that some of the gurus leave out? Lets put out heads together.

I'm just getting started in offline marketing and looking to land my first clients. My biggest obstacles are getting over the fear of contacting business owners, client acquisition, what services to offer and what to charge. Also how to optimize Google places and how to target and rank for more then one location.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

When i first got started in my offline biz, all i tried to do was direct mail. But my list stunk and the offer wasn't any good also.

If there is anything that i would like to see in your course, it's how to do direct mail correctly, and how to use postcards to market a business also.

You could also include tips on how to do effective Yellow Pages advertising, newspaper advertising, advertorials, and include sample ads that newbies can look at to "copy and clone" an example into their swipe file... and also how to do the 2-step free offer method in their ads. All of these things are topics that i had no idea of how to use (when i first started out).

I'm confident that the more responses we get to this thread, the more detailed and informative your book will be.

Just for the record... I speak for a few people here.

Im not pretending to be the end all source either... Just happen to have sold THOUSANDS of Websites to offline business owners, and have 2300 posts , any one of which could be a free report in and of itself. Thats called EARNING business, and respect instead of ASKING for it.

When people can get more out of your FREE posts than anything they could ever buy from you, then they will buy from you, because they know how much you care...

The best thing you can teach people is to take massive action and quit being afraid to stumble, because you are gonna stumble ANYWAY, no matter what until you develop your sales muscles and instincts.

The best body language technique is authentic confidence, which only comes from stepping up to the plate a few times.

    My two cents.

Very nice post on offline biz. Some of the issues I have is to come up with the charging price for the service I provide.

John I agree, all this info is not being collected for a sale, im trying to get what i can together so i can help others. I make money offline and want to help others achieve what they can. I agree that if you offer solid, reliable info then "if" you decide to sell a product it is much more likely to be taken serious.
