Could Really Do With Some Help

Hi Warriors

Could really use some advice for a listing of mine.

Professional Hair

Have never had any trouble getting to Page 1 before but can't seem to get this anywhere near for the terms Essex hairdresser and Hairdresser in Essex (currently page 7).

Have built about 50 citations but none of them are showing up on the listing and also posted about another 20 reviews on Yelp, Qype and other local directories but none of them are showing up either.

Also all of the pictures are keyword optimised.

Have also tried linking to my Yelp listing instead of the website but that just made the situation worse.

Have sort of run out ideas so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Neil

  • Weird, i've not used Google places yet for mine, but i'm on the 1st page for the terms i want with my hairdresser site. Silly question but have you done as much on site seo as you can? What's the off site seo like aswell?
  • Knew it was a silly question..yes you have..on site seo looks fine...have you tried a keyword in the title with regards to your organic rankings?
  • How long has it been since you added the citations and testimonials? We have found at times that Google can take months to rank a GP site. Even with all the efforts they still have ranked an unclaimed listing ahead of fully compliant listings.

Maybe its an indexing issue. Try adding some back links to the citation sites and ping the links. Also, we optimize the client's website to get it ranking in addition to the GP work. Then we pray!

I've come to view GP ranking as a crap shoot and I think Google is still working out their own issues.

    Thanks,
    Vito

    • Hi Vito

I added the citations about 2 months ago and the reviews about 1 month ago. I have done a lot of work on the web site and it ranks at 7 for Essex hairdresser but will try adding backlinks to the citations and reviews.

      Thanks

  • Oh dear... now its down to page 8! Really don't understand what is going on here
  • Have you tried pinging your backlink URLs? This should get them recognized by the search engines faster.

    • Yea have used Pingler to ping all the citation and reviews and pinged all the URLs on the backlink packages I bought.
  • Did you post the reviews from your ip address only? If so google will not recognize them and actually hurt your ranking.
