Is this a good name for a product?

I am creating a Audio Interview product.

It consists of 12 Audios: 9 audios and 3 bonus audios.

3 on getting out of debt
3 on credit "repair"
3 on money management

Bonus Audio: 3-" Home Based Income Generator" Audios

I'm calling it the Debt Tool Box

The domain is DebtToolBox.com.

I am calling it the DTB because it will have evrything you need to get out of debt, fix your credit, manage your money and increase your income(IM home biz) using a very simplified process all layed out from industry experts.

I am not creative when it comes to coming up with product names.

I know everyone will not like that name but I just want pointers for coming up with a better name if this one is not good enough.

Thanks
Ron

Any help is appreciated.

I like the name, but it immediately had a bad connotation. The word "debt" is a bad thing. We all associate it with owing money, being behind, failing. Your products purpose is to erase/help that. As cheesy as it is when you hear people say "eating plan" instead of "diet" because "diet" has the word "die" in it...it makes sense. I'd rather be on an eating plan than a diet. What I'm saying is, just like when you get on the phone or in front of a client you always want to use POSITIVE words. "DEBT" is not a positive word, and if you are trying to create a positive thing, you want a positive word as the name of your product.

Again, you are the one putting the idea of what your product is in your client's head. Make it a positive one.

Think of the most popular financial self-help people. Let's say Suze Orman. The names of her books/products are all POSITIVE. They don't make you feel like a loser more than you feel already for being in debt.

Hope that helps. Again, I don't think it's a bad name, I just think it should be positive.

I think it is fine as it is.

It is neither negative nor positive in a potential customers mind.

I'm in debt, how do I get out of it?

That is all they want to know.

Sorry to be the 'Odd Man Out', but I think it's a poor choice for what you're going to be selling.....

Mindset of prospect is, "I have all this DEBT, I'M DROWNING IN DEBT" ...etc.
I don't need a TOOLBOX, for what?...to build more DEBT?? To fix my debt? No, I need...

"DEBT RELIEF" so a name like "DEBT RELIEF SYSTEM" or "FREEDOM FROM DEBT METHOD" or
"DEBT TO PROSPERITY SYSTEM" would be better choices, imo. Good Luck!

I actually asked a few people about the proposed name of your product.

They all immediately said to me, "Will that help me get rid of my debt? That's what it does right?"

Debt = I owe a lot of money, and it's too much to handle.
Toolbox = A box full of tools that will help me to fix stuff.

In this case, the "stuff" is debt, and you can use the toolbox to fix it. It's a practical application of a play on words, and I think you should stick with it.

The mind of a marketer is VERY different from the mind of a customer. And I am telling you this as a potential customer who would be interested in buying your product, NOT as a marketer. All the "systems" and "methods" that are already out there seem to only lead to one thing, and that's MORE DEBT. If you can provide me with the tools I need to get out of debt, and stay out of it, then I want to know what's in that toolbox!

    Get my point?

I see your point, but don't agree.

Of course, marketers are usually not their own customer, but presumably that's part of what we get paid for: To have the experience and skills to forecast what is likely to attract prospects, whether we are one or not.

To the OP, another way to research this, is to look at what phrases are being searched for and what product names and website names are being employed to capture traffic and make sales...Whether free traffic or paid.

For example, the search phrase "eliminate my debt" produces these search results on page 1 and page 2 (names of products and/or sites):

my debt free plan (huge seller, btw)

      freedom debt relief

      get rich slowly

      debt consolidation care

      I hate debt

      take my debt

      debt suck blog

      eliminate my debt fast

      debt settlement program

      screw your bills

Now, ask yourself, does "DEBT TOOLBOX" cause the emotional response these product names and sites do?

I agree with some members here that using the word "Debt" can be a poor choice if you want someone to take immediate action. I think you need something more witty!
If you are willing to spend 5 bucks you can go to Fiver and have someone brainstorm and help you name your product.

I agree with Bruce that emotionally, Debt Toolbox is either neutral or negative.

Bruce provided a lot of examples of more emotionally positive or more emotionally resonant names. Here are a few more:

      Debt Freedom Toolbox
      Debt-Free in 60 Days
      Debt-Free Forever
      Debt Elimination Kit
      Debt Be Gone!

      Etc.

      Marcia Yudkin

P.S Whatever you do, don't turn your product name into an acronym. Then you lose all the meaning and connection the words had.

You mean like FB, WF, IM and POF............I think your remarks apply to those that are not familiar with the product.

Acronym is fine when folks are familiar........

    "Debt"?
    What are you thinking?
You want to offer financial relief to people and you are loading them up, unconsciously with with the same affliction?
"Tool Box" is not bad as such but you need to come up with a better domain. Don't be in a hurry, take your time and brainstorm for a good and appropriate name.
I'm very good with domain names. I give you a couple of them that I registered. Sometimes it took me weeks to find what's good.
Here are some of my domains: www.CleaBuzz.com, The Apprentice Trader, SelfHelpBlogger, Messengers On Call, Contact Support, www.africangeographic.com, www.BlackBuzz.com (sold). I have more than 300 domains that are next to premium names that people want to buy.
This is not to brag, but simply intended to push you to dig deeper, to be creative, to look for domains that will make prospective buyers bang on your door with cash, looking to buy your business.
I register domains and less than a week I sell it for $500 or more. Why? They are very valuable and buyers line up for them.
People in debt, are also in financial stress. They don't need another tool box, something that looks like work to them. They want "relief" not "tool". They want you to wave a wand and their debts will magically disappear. So "Relief" should prominently play a part of your domain structure.
Look on Google and you will see that the word "relief" scores a search of more than 405,000,000 million searches. This is huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next, look up for the component that when coupled with "relief" will convey the idea of "solvency".
Use Google and Thesaurus (Thinkmap Visual Thesaurus - An online thesaurus and dictionary of over 145,000 words that you explore using an interactive map.) to help you come up with a good domain for your business.
With the example I just gave I have a good domain for your business, but I will not publish it in public for fear that someone else will not register it. If you PM me, I'll give about two domains that will be good for your offer. I will not register them unless you don't like them, in which case I'll register them for myself if I don't hear from you by Monday noon, EST in New York City.
    Good luck in your business.

dude to be honest, those domains are not all of that. The OP has a good domain name. There is nothing wrong with it at all.

Well I am sure with all of the replies, you're even more confused than ever now.

Those that are saying don't use the word Debt, just to let you know, the highest selling program on Nightangale-Conant is: Turn Debt Into Wealth......it sells for $399. Vic Conant himself said it was the highest selling item and he also stated they TEST every single title before they market the product.

I think that says a lot. I am not sure how many of you have that kind of credibility?

OP, as you stated not everyone is going to like the title...you can't please everyone. Ask 50 IMer's whats' the best way to make money online....you'll get different 50 answers and opinions.

I don't think your name has a positive nor negitive conotation at all. It's easy to remember and short. I don't have to write down that domain name. It's one of those that, once you hear it once, you'll remember it.

No one knows how someone else is going to view the product name. IT's easy to sit back and "play" the customer on a forum. But it reality, no one knows how the customer will respond. No one.

The beauty of this thing called IM is there are dozens of ways to do the right thigs to earn money. When I started doing email marketing, I bought ebooks and all kinds of stuff.......it was all about subject lines, what not to say, how often to send emails, blah, blah, blah.......that caused me to HATE email marketing.......one day I said, I'm just going to write about whatever I want to and send it to my list real time, no auto responder...guess what, my sales increased. I stopped listening to all of the "experts".

There is no one way or formula........just do what resinates with you. I hate blogging and artilce marketing and SEO( and NO, I don't want to outsource it neither)..........I don't do any of those things. I buld my list( using paid methods) and promote to it, that's all I do. Why? That's what I like.

My point is...........if you like the name--ROLL WITH IT.

I can almost beat that when the founders of Google told everyone that was the name of their search engine, most people where probably like "WTF" is a Google?

I am sure people said the same thing for Yahoo and Twitter, etc.......if those platforms where not what they are today, the smae folks giving you advice about not using your domain name would be the same folks saying don't use Google, Yahoo or Twitter.

Heck you can say the same for product and services like: Tide or Two Men and a Truck
