How do you Value Your Time?

I was going to writ this in response to another thread where someone mentioned that writing an article yourself is always the cheapest route...

That depends on how you value your time. I value my time at $50 / hour. If I'm working on something for a client, I want the return to be $50 / hour - and I would like to move that higher.

So if I spend 15 minutes writing an article, that "cost" me $12.50.

There's also the concept of opportunity cost. Usually that's applied to money, i.e. if I put $50 into links, that's $50 I don't have to spend on writers. You can (SHOULD) also apply the concept to your time. If I spend 15 minutes writing an article, that's 15 minutes I could have spent building my business.

Does anyone else think this way?

Do you agree or disagree with this?

I agree strongly. Although in the example I would have to factor in my time for finding someone else to write the article and then checking it. We must remember though, we don't work for free, we need to be paid and very often we want to earn a lot more than the people we can hire.
