Anyone doing it? Any tips?

I started a campaign for a client two weeks ago and I set it up where if they click his ad, he gets a phone call. Google is showing 34 clicks/calls. My client did not believe he received that many calls in the first week so I got a virtual number and started tracking after the 17th call.

Since then, the ad received 17 clicks, and 11 calls.

Is this the best way to do it?

Here are my stats so far:

Clicks: 34
CTR: 0.15% - The AdWords lady said anything over 0.10% is good for mobile
AVG CPC: $2.56
AVG Cost Per Call: $7.82
Cost: $87.10

What am I doing right?

More importantly, what am I doing wrong?

I have NEVER done PPC (desktop or mobile). A complete noob/virgin.

Any advice is greatly appreciated .

Thanks again!

I would look at using Admob and some of the others to see what gives you the best results. Depending on the offer and where you are marketing it:
Adfonic - is great for overseas especially Europe.
InMobi - smaller but I have had great success - also allows more specific targeting.
Admob - if you need to target to a specific device or city.
    Mojiva - up and coming

One thing I can say is your CPC seems WAY high to me. I can use the ad platforms that let me geo target a city and wouldnt pay more than .25¢ per click and that is a high estimate. You should go into Admob and watch some of their videos. I have not run a campaign in a few months but cant imagine those prices would have jumped that high without me seeing something on it. Hope this helps.

Split-test the hell outa those ads, and keep focused on tweaking the copy, trying to beat your control. That's the fastest way to create lifts.

Very cool what are you marketing ? you could be getting that many call but are they converting into sales on the other end, that's what matters, Are your ads targeted enough..

You need to make sure you weed out all the maybes and have just the people who are looking for what you are selling.. You want to make it as target as possible..

Good job Best of Luck with that..
