How do I rank for so many keywords?

Hi all,

Im new to all of this stuff (but learning more each day) so please excuse such a naive question.

Ok, my question:

If I get a local client (for example a locksmith), how do I go about ranking him for numerous (20/30 or so) keywords when he only has a 5 page website?

Do I have to create individual pages on his website for each of these keywords (and write articles on these keywords that link back to these individual pages) or is alot more simple than that?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Rob

Get him to add a blog to his website. Then create articles which include some of his keywords. Depending on the niche, you may or not be lucky with this. If the niche is too popular go after the long tail of keywords, not broad ones.

For starters, check on the value of each keyword (search volume and sale potential).

Create new content based on the best 5 keywords.

If you do any more now, you will just get overwhelmed.

Weave the other keywords into the content.

And yes, SEO is hard work!

Good advice. Also, starting off with a few that you know you can rank quickly will make you look good and buy you some time to work on the others.

great advice. you will need to create a blog if the site is static. keep updating it and work at SEO. this way, you get to rank, and hopefully get customers..

    Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for all of your replies - I truly appreciate it.

One more query - when writing articles for this blog, do I write the articles about my target keyword only, eg: "24 hour Emergency Plumber", or do I make it location based eg: "24 hour Emergency Plumber London"?

Im guessing I would need to use the location in the keyword, but would like clarification if possible.

    Thanks,
    Rob
