Is a passive income achievable?

Hi all.

I've been wondering about this lately. I know it's nothing that happens overnight and without a lot of work, but is it possible? I'm not talking about the set it and forget it, autopilot type of thing that we so commonly see in hype messages.

Mostly what I'm thinking of is a point where a decent level of income could be maintained with a smaller time investment each week.

Have any of you achieved such an income?

Thanks for the advice.

EDIT: I'm sorry, but I just realized I posted this in the wrong section. Could someone please move this to the Main Internet Marketing Section? Thank you very much.

Well, there are offline ways to have passive income, such as vending machines, candy bulk machines, and on line such as creating a info product, and then sell it again and again, it can be an WSO, an ebook, an educational video. I´m really interested on this topic and would love to see what is the warriors experience on this subject.

    Regards,

Passive income...the holy grail of all.

There are some great passive incomes available, in other industries. However, i have yet to find a truly passive income in our traditional offline community, unless you are just signing up clients and don't do anything while still collecting a check. They will end that soon.

For most of us the offline game is semi - passive, I have several clients, and my workload is almost 0 with the exception of managing. I outsource 90% of all my work needed. Passive for me, not passive for the business. If you can find a good VA or full time assistant, then you can have a great semi- passive income. It takes time and a lot of effort but can be done.

Ebooks and Reports also make up a fair chunk of my income, write it once, promote it a bit and sit back and watch the sales trickle in. Not truly to consistent but still semi passive.

In a previous life, I sold merchant accounts and once we were "vested" we would receive income for life on all of our accounts.

Well, I still receive checks, just not nearly as large as they once were.

So, I suppose "lifetime" residual income would depend on whose lifetime.

Additionally, I have about $600 to $1,100 per month that comes in from Amazon (I have an online library we recommend books for our clients to read.)

I live in California, and was just terminated from the Amazon Affiliate program due to the recent changes our incredibly stupid state government passed in taxing purchases made via California affiliate links.

Anyhow, I assumed my Amazon revenues to be passive income. I joined Amazon as an affiliate in 1992. Long, long time relationship.

I am a serious fan of do it once and get paid forever though.

I consider all of my hosting clients to be passive income too.

    :-)

Passive income is a reality for a lot of entrepreneurs, both online and off. Do a search on passive income.

Some of the more common methods include...

      * affiliate programs (digital and physical products)
      * "get paid to" programs (primarily through referrals)
      * MLM/network programs (use with caution)

macalixter already provided you with great offline methods.

Regardles of how you go about it -- it going to take some effort and focus
      to get the ball rolling.

      Best of luck!

I'd be setting up an LLC in another state and bringing that money back in if I were you.

As for passive, I have about $100.00 - $250.00 a day right now in passive income online. As for offline though, it's really all "semi-passive" till you completely outsource the whole process and just check the results.

    Hey pal,
For me, it's all about writing. Hire a few writers to write for you and provide them work through potential clients through the forums websites. As simple as that.

Invest the money you make online into the right real estate. But get knowledgable in that subject first. You will achieve passive income with that.
