Ethical SEO question for Offline Client

Hello Warriors,

A few months ago I bought Tyler Ericssons "Net Space Profits 2.0" program...This program teaches you how to rank 1 page websites on the first page of Google and then to lease those websites out to business owners.

However, one of his techniques was creating fake addresses and accounts in directories such as the Yellow Pages, Superpage, etc... Then we put the link to the niches website in these directories to get them ranked quick...Since we are creating fake businesses and addresses in these directories I was wondering if this would be considered black hat? Is this ethical to do?

Maybe I am over reacting but does anybody see a problem in doing this? What if the business that rents one of my Webpages out finds out I am doing this? What if Google finds out and I get hammered?

I finally got a 1 page website ranked on the first page of Google in the first spot for the Plumbing profession...my keword was Plumber in (the name of my city)..and now its on the first page in the first spot.....

But since I did this creating fake addresses and accounts in directories like the program told me to do... I am too nervouse about calling a plumber and asking if he would like to rent that space out with his information...

Does anybody see long term bad effects in doing this?

If I could get some clarification on this I would feel alot better about renting this 1 page space out to businesses...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

Aaron

      Eeh.

Creating fake businesses across directories is pretty ****ty in the first place - having a fake "real" address to back it up is only another rung on the unethical ladder.

Why can't you rank the page without using that strategy?

What's unethical about it? You're not tricking anyone but the SEs.

You're also only renting this sites, you're not selling them.

When you get a client, can't you just change the fake information to the information of your new client?

Yea... I thought about that...not sure if that would then effect the SEO outcome...because I would have to change the fake physical address to thier address...might drop the ranking... and sometimes the client already has their listing in the directories...not sure if they can have two listings in the same directory...

Whether or not it's ethical is up for grabs depending on who you ask. The real question is if you're comfortable doing it. If it doesn't sit well with you, then you absolutely shouldn't do it, no matter what it is. If it's going to keep you up at night, then just move on.

Do you feel comfortable putting your biggest asset at risk for removal by Google? If you're okay with suffering the consequences, go ahead and do it. If not, play the safe card.
