What is this forum about?

Hello Warriors,

I am particularly interested in good ol' marketing, and enjoy following the advice of such gurus as T Harv Eker, Jay Abraham and Chet Holmes.

I am intrigued by this subforum (Offline Marketing) as so many threads are started by webdesigners or promoters of mobile marketing services, trying to market small businesses.

Am I the only one here with a small business (I sell secretarial services to large enterprises) trying to market to other businesses or to the general public?

If so, which forum should I visit to talk about bread and butter marketing?

Could you help me define "offline marketing" ?

Thanks,
Hmartin

I'm a noob here too. To me "Offline Marketing" in this context means taking the principles and practices used in Internet Marketing (affilliate, cpa etc.) and applying them for the benefit of LOCAL bricks and mortar businesses. It includes, but is not limited to, web design (with marketing emphasis rather than JUST design), SEO, mobile websites, QR codes, email / newsletter marketing etc.

You're in the right place if you need help using the interwebs to market to clients whose businesses are mostly bricks and mortar.

EDIT: As I write this I find myself thinking that the delineation between IM and OM may not be all that useful.

The word contains the meaning of offline Marketing itself.
This is the kind of marketing where everything is done to make a business popular among its fans and consumers, excluding internet marketing efforts. This marketing concept is useful for all commercial and non-commercial businesses and products globally. Offline marketing helps in increasing Brand popularity, Product sale, Revenue generation, Profit Maximization and Covering the gap between providers and consumers and making more more more....

Offline marketing typically refers to marketing through non-Internet mediums. For example, magazines and cold calling are forms of offline marketing while Pay Per Click ads and Skype conferences are forms of online marketing. If you get the word out about your product or service without using the Internet, then you are doing offline marketing. Hope this clears things up

Offline here while you might assume it has to do with non online marketing techniques for anyone, it as evolved as a shortcut for
Doing Online marketing (Internet marketing) for offline businesses (clueless brick and mortar business owners) ... not meant to be deragatory... It is evolving to a term to describe those who provide these services as "offliners".

In your case an offliner could help you master offline marketing so you will be better suited to use Online marketing to attract new customers to your Brick and mortar business.

Not a great term I know but we are stuck with it because everyone online knows what it means and the customers that offliners are wanting to help will never really know to use the term even probably find out about it.
